Uhh, form pointers: Pretty coding is a plus, if it asks for a personality and there isn't a word limit, make it detailed :3
Barns are extremely helpful in keeping track of your Tolters and their breeding slots, but are not necessary if you don't want one c:

And I would recommend a barn - Here's mine, but I'm about to post a new one in a few minutes!
My advice is to put effort into a form for a Tolter, like this:

Instead of

username: flurry
show name: name name
name: name
gender: gender
halter colour: colour w/ design
personality: trait - trait - trait - trait - trait

do this

username: flurry, the owner of twenty three tolters.
show name: i chose the show name 'name' because reason reason.
name: i chose the barn name 'name' because reason reason.
gender: name is a gender.
halter colour: i think a colour halter with design would look good on them.
personality: a good paragraph or two here

i'd say a barn is a nice way to keep track of your tolters, but if you don't want one, you don't have to make one.
a piece of advice from me is to make detailed forms and pretty them up a bit to catch the artist's attention.
another would be to stalk all of the artists check around the place so you can always see if any new adopts are up.

Welcome to the family!

First off it's a really really really good idea to get a stable thread created after getting your first (or before) Tolter. It's a great way to keep track of slots/foals and any general information or personality. Also don't forget it's okay to have something basic and simple at first and don't be afraid to change it to fit your style or favorite look. I've changed my stable several times, including very recently and I always find a way to make it so I not only like it but so it looks pleasing to the eye and is easy enough for the community to view.

Also just wanted to say since some users above suggested being very detailed in creating forms which there's nothing wrong with doing that but do what you feel like doing. Don't force yourself to put a lot of effort into a form if you don't feel like it. Artists are very fair in judging so you have as much a chance at winning with a simple form against a detailed form. It's also nice to pretty up forms but small things like a smaller/larger font and text color go a long way when it comes to a simple adopt.

welcome young grasshopper. I'm a semi-senior member, you may call me summer, jay, or jaci, I accept all titles c:
now, to kick off this introduction I'd say I strongly suggest a barn/stables thread. I have one down in my siggy, and it's seriously the only way I manage to keep track of my babies. it doesn't have to be extravagant and detailed, just a simple thing about each tolter including the slots they have and who is using them.
most of the time I won't allow people to use my tolters very often unless I'm sent a personal pm of what they plan to use them for and sometimes with whom and when, but I'm fairly lenient with my tolters and am always willing to send a couple slots your way!
anyway, I'd recommend you make the form for the babe you are trying out for to reflect your personality. I like to keep mine neat and small because I have some upsettingly awful ocd xD I wouldn't use every single thing that others have recommended, but once again that's just me.
oops I wrote a paragraph cX haha but yea, those are just some tips from me, I tend not to put the number of tolters I have in my forms for entries because it can rub people the wrong way - then again I have quite a few.
