"Oh, I'm good at that," Saffron told him. She watched Jace and Rebecca leave before holding the door open for him. "Gentlemen first," she said.

"No," Ms. Edwards said. "They are a series of laws discovered by Isaac Newton. Three laws that help shape the universe we live in. The first law, for example, is that an object at rest will stay at rest, or an object in motion will stay in motion, unless acted upon by an external force. The second is force is equal to mass times acceleration, and the third is my personal favourite, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Like when you kick a wall, it hurts, because the wall acted on your foot."

Aden tried to smile but it ended up looking like a grimace. He entered with a more neutral expression, not looking the Principal in the eye. "Mrs. Aaron?" He asked softly. "I was wondering if I could do the online math course with Saffron- and maybe do science online too, if that's okay." He stopped, having said everything he meant to say before he psyched himself out completely.

I hear Aden's request and I reply to him. "Sure, fine," I go over to my files and take his out, making a note to change his schedule. "There, it'll be changed by tomorrow. After dealing with those Aries I'm just happy to have some people in my office that won't try to burn the school down."

Aden visibly flinched. "They want to burn the school down?" He asked softly, really hoping it had just been a fit of anger and not a serious, genuine desire. He'd been sent here to get away from his problems and connect with people like him, but now he might end up repeating history. Lovely.

"Not literally," I reassure him. "They just attempted to burn all the physics books, the teacher's desk, and last night the hallway," I explain to Aden.

Saffron debated whether to wrap a reassuring arm around Aden or not. The latter would be less awkward, but the first would provide comfort. Finally she spoke up. "For online classes, should we head to the library or what?" she asked. She didn't mention that she wanted to do science online as well, she felt as if it would be asking too much.

"It doesn't matter to me where you do your classes. It's your preference," I explain to her. I put Aden's file back with the others and face them again.

Rebecca-Fire Elemental-Talking to: Jace

"Well, that's dumb," I say simply, "but I guess so is water burning someone's skin. I don't how they come up with these things." I mean really, it doesn't happen to anyone else but me. "Back to your elemental dragon though, why do you create them if you're worried about it taking all of your energy?"

"Because as dangerous as it is, it's also one of the most powerful kinds of magic. The one I created in class was just a cute, friendly version. The one in the hallway also wasn't that much. Most people don't even know about elemental dragons, let alone know how to use them. I could teach you, but since you risked my life only a few minutes ago, I think that won't do." I finish, putting my hands into my pockets.

I roll my eyes at Jace. "How was I supposed to know all of this? And if you haven't noticed, I kinda act before I think, so you can't really blame me for putting your life at risk," I say to him.
