Tai'vil nodded. "Basically yes."

Pallon's eyes kept going between the path ahead of them and back to Rin.

"Alright then he should be good to go concidering he was a soldier". Rin found it adorable how Pallon kept looking at her and blushed slightly.

Taivil nodded skeptically. "You'd think that, but he was discharged."

"On basis of injury..." Pallon added as he glanced back to the path blushing slightly.

Rin smiled at her cousin then to Pallon, she didn't think she'd EVER be this happy and content in a war zone.

Pallon tensed for a moment. He hoped that no one had noticed. stopitstopitstopit... Do not start with that. You cant hide yourself away here. You cant let a memory get the best of you here, even if you almost died here... stopitstopitstopit...

Tai'vil's eyes narrowed on Pallon. He hides his emotions well... He's scared s****** though...

Rin was oblivious to Pallon's sudden mood shift. She looked ahead in the road. Something was standing alone in the center.

Pallon spotted the figure in the road as well. He could feel his chest tighten with apprehension, but he wouldn't let his fear get the best of him.

Taivil held his scythe at ready as they approached the figure.

As they drew closer, Rin could make out a form. It was not a person as previously thought but an object. A sword, plunged into the center of the path, holding an Alenthian soldiers helmet. "It's a warning," Rin looked to Tai'vil with concern, then on to Pallon.

Tai'vil frowned as he looked at Sword and helmet. "This isn't good..." His eyes flicked to Pallon as well.

Pallon's was white as a sheet, and had his free hand balled in a fist and at his side stiffly. His eyes bore into the the visor of the helm where the soldiers eyes would have been.

Rin placed a gentle hand on Pallon's shoulder, but said nothing. She turned to the villagers, they had haulted behind them, mortified.
