Xani
- Female - 21 - Beta -
After responding to Hrafn's call, Xani turned to face Attican. His words were definitely full of wise advice, but she was still loathe to follow it. After all, she was Beta. It was now her duty to protect the pack. Hiding and sleeping, even while in pain, was not something she particularly wanted to do. Still, she figured it would be best to follow it. It was starting to get hard to keep herself upright and her eyes open. With a huff, she turned her back on the older brute and made her way slowly out of sight.
The other wolves had found hidey holes down between the rocks, but climbing down was not something that Xani particularly wanted to do. Besides, being cramped up with other wolves wasn't something she enjoyed by any means. Instead, she moved a bit to the side of the pack, finding a few boulders a bit higher than the rest. They offered a small hideout between them, but it was full of smaller rocks. Snorting, she simply sat where she was. "The one place I find just has to be uncomfortable, doesn't it?" she mused to herself. Still, her coloration would help her blend in a bit. Instead of crawling between the rocks, she remained simply beside them, allowing their great height to block her from view.
Slowly, Xani eased herself down to a lying position. It was somewhat hard, given that she hadn't done it in a long time. When she finally made it, a deep breath escaped her. Just as she eased down her head and closed her eyes, the sound of approaching paws made her peer up curiously. It was none other than Hrafn. With a quiet snort, the beta pushed herself to her feet just in time for the brute to reach her. She remained still as he came near, only able to nod once at his words. "Same to you."
As Hrafn cleared away a spot for her, Xani slowly made her way towards it. Before crawling into it, she turned and looked at Hrafn with a face that tried to hide anything she might be thinking. "When I wake up, I want to know what happened. All of it." It was obvious by his presence that at least some had made it back. If they survived, then her rouse would have worked a bit. If it had all been for naught, she would forever be angry at herself. As it was, she wasn't even sure if she would be able to use her leg as well as she had before.
After speaking, Xani slowly limped into the nook and laid down, back pressed up against the ground. She kept her eyes trained on Hrafn for just a moment, trying to see what he planned on doing- watching her, lying with her, or leaving to check on the pack. In the amount of time she watched, he didn't move. Her eyes quickly closed, and she instantly felt herself drifting to sleep.
