I growl in frustration and jump into the water, quite suddenly I add. I hope nobody sees when my legs turn to tail. I swim away from there as fast as I can. I need to relax. I sit down on a rock far out on the ocean. Trying to calm myself.

"No, I don't have legs, actually-" Lola stated, a weak laugh escaping her lips. "Um, I'm a mermaid. Sounds crazy, I know, but I'm telling the truth." She murmured, feeling somewhat self-conscious and nervous. She did not want to ruin her first friendship with a human. Curiously, she watched Jason light up her lantern. Thanking him, she held onto the lantern. She focused her gaze on the lantern, occasionally flickering her gaze over to Jason to see his response to her statement.

Hearing her comment, Thomas felt his blood boil. Deciding it was not worth the fight, he sat down on the dock and ruffled Carla's fur. "Let's just have a nice night without any rude comments, hmm?" He murmured to his canine, rubbling the canine's soft ears. Clearly, Carla did not understand what had happened, but she wagged her tail and licked Thomas' hand.

Jenna slowly began to make her way towards the dock, enjoying the way the sand felt between her toes. When she got closer to the dock, she noticed another figure already there. There was a canine figure sitting next to him as well, so Jenna was a bit precautions while moving closer. She didn't want to disrupt the man's peace, but she really did want to go down to the dock. After an internal battle, she decided to just walk down the dock anyways. She hadn't bothered to put her shoes back on, and continued to walk bare foot.

She saw Larkai clutch the basket and look over at a boy. "Just go talk to him." She said looking at her. "If your to scared i'll go with you." She said to her.

Larkai shook her head sadly. "I cant...I already embarrassed myself today..."

She shrugged "Well, whats another going to do to ya?" She said. "Plus i'll be their to back you up, if you mess up." She says to her.

"Um...okay." Adira replied softly, furrowing her eyebrows for a moment before standing up. She was worried about how other humans would act if they saw Marina's tail. She personally thought it was pretty cool, but she knew some others would not. Most likely, it would not end up very pleasant. It reminded her faintly of the witch trials back in the day, but she pushed the thought from her mind. Grabbing her board and paddle, she headed back into the water, shivering for a moment from the cold but continued. "I uh, don't thing you should get to close to the shore...no offense or anything" she warned, knowing there would be allot of people on the beach due to the lantern festival.

Jason stopped what he was doing as he comprehended what she was saying. He watched her for a moment, before letting out a small laugh, instantly figuring she was joking or something. What she was proposing was impossible. "If you're a mermaid..." he paused, turning his attention to the object in his hand. Holding his lantern above his head, he looked at the bottom of it and lit the small device inside. "Then prove it," he finished, holding his lit lantern slightly to the side while he looked to her. He raised his eyebrows, clearly not taking her seriously. Although it would explain certain things, his mind refused to accept even the idea if such an absurd thing.

I get into the water. "Don't worry, I won't. I'll just stay behind some rocks, watching... That sounds creepy, doesn't it?"

Larkai blushed and took a deep breath. "Okay...okay..." she smiled, walking onto the dock barefoot. Her sandles lay in the sand in abandon

"Alright, I will. Hold onto my lantern." Lola responded, handing the lantern over to the male. She had taken on the challenge almost instantly because she wanted to prove she was telling the truth. Placing her elbows on the dock, she heaved herself up and sat down on the wooden dock Now he could see her pink and blue tail clearly in the light coming from the two lanterns. "Is this enough proof for you?" She asked, hearing her supposed to be confident tone come out as slightly shaky and hesitant. She cleared her throat quietly, waiting for his reaction.

Thomas set the lantern on his lap, glowing brightly due to the small flame inside of it. He made sure that Carla did not move too close to it. Suddenly, he heard footsteps approaching him, and he hoped that it was not the female from earlier. Briefly glancing up, he felt relieved when it happened to be a complete stranger. He simply nodded his head in greeting to the woman.
