I walk down to the beach, feeling serene and peaceful. I take my professional sketchbook out and a draw the ocean. I feel very blissful when I'm drawing. I decided to swim later, after everyone leaves the beach.

(I'm going to be putting up a poll soon for options of what's to happen next. [Like something major] It probably won't actually happen for awhile, when things slow down a bit, I just want to keep things active and eventful. If anyone has suggestions, feel free to PM me about them.)

Adira nodded, now understanding the absolute basics but was still sketchy on the details. Most things past what she explained were obvious however. She stayed silent for a moment, unsure what to say. Noticing small dots of light lining the horizon on the mainland, she suddenly remembered about the festival, and quickly lifted her head. "Damn, I can't believe I forgot!" She spoke to herself before giving a sigh. "You ever been here for the lanterns?" Adira asked the mermaids sitting beside her, turning her head to look at her. "I would probably be really pretty from out here," she commented, having only watched them from one of the public docks and her rooftop.

Jason heard her approaching, but didn't comprehend it was her until she was much closer. Looking down, he jumped slightly in surprised. He definitely hadn't been expecting her to come from the water. Had she been swimming the whole time? Confused, but still happy to see her, he smiled. "Jeez, you scared me." he spoke before giving a small laugh. He glanced at the lanterns as she mentioned them, giving a nod. "Yeah. I'm not sure how exactly they work but they come with instructions so we can probably figure it out." He shrugged, eyeing her in the water for a moment. She must be freezing. He sure would be. "Oh and I brought you a soda if you want it," he added as soon as he remembered. Setting his aside, he scooted back on the dock a few feet and crossed his legs, picking up one of the lanterns and looking around for some sort of instructions. They were flat, so he assumed they folded out.

Seeing him jump, a small laugh escaped Lola's mouth. She gave an apologetic smile, looking a bit sheepish. "Sorry about that. It was somewhat of an odd entrance." She mused, giving a light shake of her head. The mermaid was ready to give her explanation for the entrance. "A soda? Oh! Thank you!" She responded, reaching forward to grab the bottle. She examined at bottle before figuring out how to open it. Once she did, she took a small sip of it. The carbonation of the soda burned her throat, and she silently panicked before it passed. She had never had a soda before, but she seemed to like it. She set the bottle back on the dock before reaching out to grab one of the lanterns. Curiously, she looked for instructions and found them on the back. She hummed in thought, eyes scanning the words. Eventually, she popped the lantern open and set it down. "These are so cool." She whispered, gazing the at unlit lantern.

Holding a paper lantern in his arms, Thomas walked to the dock where many people had gathered. Beside him was his canine companion, Carla. She was hooked up on a leash, so she would not become too excited and jump on people. She knew better than to do that, but it was a simple safety precaution. He stood on the dock and started to light his lantern.

I run up to the dock to sketch the sunset on the water. It was beautiful. I was startled by a dog that ran up to me, followed by it's owner. I pet the dog, it looked friendly. I smile at the boy who, I assume, it's the owner of the dog. "Hi. I'm assuming this is your dog. Oh, I'm Opal. Nice to meet you." I shyly smile at him.

Turning his head, Thomas noticed a female approach him and start petting his canine. Thankfully for her, Carla was not vicious toward strangers (only nervous around other canines), but he did not like that she had pet her without his permission. "I'm Thomas, and this is Carla. You shouldn't pet a dog without their owner's permission. And nice to meet you too." He added, nodding his head to Opal. He watched as Carla wagged her tail, clearly enjoying the affection. He held onto Carla's leash, so she would not jump on Opal. She became rather excitable, and it was a habit that was hard to break. He spoiled the canine too much.
