Once he was ready to return to shore, Thomas started to paddle back over to the beach. He slid off his board and lifted it under his arm while he walked to the surf shack. He greeted the other worker and set the board down on the counter. He grabbed his towel and placed it over his shoulders. He placed his hands behind his head, a sigh escaping his mouth.

Hayden walked around the beach before taking his sandles off and stood in ankle-deep water looking around lost in thought.
