What to you is the difference between a design, and a character? Why do you feel that way?
Similarly to everyone else's answers. A design to me is simply an image. A concept or piece of art. A character is something that someone has put work into in terms of Personality and history. Now, good characterization is another thing entirely. A character is the design + the personality, history etc. When someone sells a 'character' unless it comes with at least some development, what they're really selling is a design.
I'm a troublesome spender but there is a adopt that I'm INLOVE with, like I plan on writing out chapters of story's for this one, it was a 72 hour auction. It currently ended 11 hours ago, and te person running the auctionasntbeen on in the last 48 hours. Idk way to do I really don't want to pull out auction (bidded 1000 points for tis babe) but I'm also running into oter cute adopts cause im bored and like to look at up for sale adopts. Well, if you're committed these points all ready, you're under obligation not to use them. There is nothing worse than for someone to finish an auction only to find that the top bidder wasn't serious/ has spent those points.I think what you need to do is take a hard look at that character and desire if you really want them. If you don't, pull out immediately and allow the other person to win the design. If you do want it then I suggest you employ some self-discipline and don't even look at those other adopts.
