Apparently Oxbow is available over here, but only from one online retailer, so that's not an option.
The more I look into food brands, the more I'm cnvinced pellet-free will be best.

I finally got my rescue boy to start warming up to me He doesn't run anymore, and I am hoping to have him come to the front of the cage when I enter the room by next week. He's an agouti roan boy, and I can't wait for his white to spread

What do you guys know about rats who have special needs? I think my boy North may have special needs. He acts a lot different than the other rats and he's kind of slow when it comes to doing ordinary rat tasks. And im 200% sure that he's healthy.

Edit; Three out of four of my boys love me, they always want to be picked up, they are always running around and playing, but then there is Zander, who hates being touched and just hides in his little bird basket all day. How do I get him to stop being shy? How do I get him to like me?

I picked up my new rescue rat today! His my first ever rat and he is such a sweetie. Im picking up some friends for him in a few days :3

@CaptainMarvel: Hmm, maybe food? Peas, peanut butter, Cheerios (they can't have too many soft things because then their teeth get all messed up and they have digestive issues) and try to lure him out if he likes 'em. My rats have always been food-motivated, my little girl Tib (rest in peace, sweetheart ;n;) had peanut butter-flavored medicine that she loved XD She would also eat peas, but only if I mushed them up first lol. But anyway, please get a second opinion- I'm no expert and I haven't really dealt with unfriendly rats before, this is just an idea.

My little black-hooded rat Winona died a few days ago, in the end of heart failure. She was over 3 1/2 years old, really old, but I'm still so sad~;m; She died a week after her friend Tib. (she had chronic lung problems and was only a year old). Rest in peace, ratties </3

She's my baby xD I don't know what I'd do without her tbh; I feel strange when she's not there to be looked after, like if I'm at a friends XD To think she screamed in the beginning if I went near the cage!

i haven't posted here in forever, but i think i really need some help

rhys got over his health scare, and was doing really really great until a few hours ago.
i put him away last night and fed him like i always do, and when i got up to let him out, he was just standing there, staring at me.
so i went to pick him up and let him on the floor, and he flipped out. struggled out of my hand and darted underneath the bed.

i have no clue why, i was the only one in the room last night, and nothing happened to my knowledge that should have done that to him.
so i went to make him a little bit of egg, figured a peace offering might calm him down. he walked over to me and let me pick him up, but as soon as i tried putting him back in his cage, he freaked out again and ran back under the bed.

i cleaned out his cage completely, like scrubbed down and i tried to kill the smell as best i could, thinking maybe that would fix the problem?

he's never been this skittish, it's just not him. he's friendly and outgoing, and i honestly have no idea why he's doing this.
does anyone have any idea why he's so anxious, or how i can try to calm him down
