{as long as it's vaguely plant-like, it's fair game}
i don't really have any plants; indoor ones at least. we have tonnes of fuchsias, and they're so pretty; we also have a pear and apple tree which are probably almost as old as I am; roses which are white and red {i believe} and they smell gorgeous; I think we also have camomile which I loooove so much!; and I've got strawberries, which I think I've grown for the past three years. And a tonne more, but those are the most notable.
n///n
but i'm gonna be getting some soon; i really want a venus fly trap and some cacti

@Zan
Ah yeah I can see where that'd put a dampening on gardening. :'D We have a medium backyard in Louisiana, so you know, nice place to grow all kinds of stuff.
Glad you were able to to save the vera! They're pretty hardy little plants, but I'm amazed it did so well in that environment. A shame about the lemon tree. We battle aphids every year on our tomatoes, but we've had an influx in spiders recently so it's been really helpful with them around-- for all of the pests we've got hanging around.
@Wenom
Harold's so cute! :D Love it!
& I'm super jealous of your apple tree. What kind of apples does it produce? I eat a bunch of apples so really it'd be nice to have an apple tree or five. They take so long, though, and I'll be moving out on my own soon. Maybe once I've got a house of my own.
We've tried to grow strawberries the last few years, but they just don't turn out. Always tiny and bitter. /: How're yours set up, if you don't mind me asking? Do you have them in rows or the more experimental way of hanging? We've tried both and no luck, sigh. Though this year we did broccoli and it turned out fabulously!
As for beginners: don't take on more than you can chew, and definitely read up about your growing zone and what your plants need! Cacti are fairly easy to maintain, but they're an investment. Do you want them indoors or outdoors? If indoors, make sure whatever cactus you choose can fare indoors. Same goes with succulents. Read up on the difference between forest and desert cacti; both need different care. Just do a good amount of research and the rest will come more or less naturally.
Also, my only real helpful advice about CPs because I haven't dabbled in them much: if you're a beginner, buy them as a plant. DO NOT TRY TO GROW IT FROM A SEED. It's difficult and takes forever. Grow comfortable with already grown CPs before you try to plant your own.

DO NOT TRY TO GROW IT FROM A SEED. It's difficult and takes forever. Grow comfortable with already grown CPs before you try to plant your own.
The apple tree produces red apples; but i'm not a huge fan of red apples so they tend to be used for cooking rather than just eating.
My strawberries are just in pots, I'll try get some pictures, but it's nothing special hue - they've been fairly big and quite sharp which I love! The only issue I've really had was with bugs eating them before me hue.
Thank you so much for your advice nwn
I'll definitely have a look for cacti and again for CP. (:
also i'm gonna jump into the topic of fungi; I absolutely love Fly agaric, they are so pretty and vibrant! I also love Oak Polypore - they're similar to the bleeding tooth fungus that sen mentioned, just a little less vibrant nwn - ALSO I REALLY LOVE CORAL TOOTH IT IS SO PRETTY AND I LOVE IT!
Bonus: any bioluminescent fungi is automatically ranked as a thing I love!
Also, you are accepted esmeme! <3
