I have new artwork of one of my characters named Glass.
She's quite unique with her skin being transparent and all main organs can be shown as well as her veins and bones.
Organs, bones, and veins are all black.

I've been really happy with my artwork lately, the last few commissions were like.. at my expectations
and beyond. It makes me so happy to be able to be happy with my artwork and have the person who
commissioned me like my art as well ^u^ And I've been slowly building up a small fanbase and getting
more comments ^u^ I hope the trend continues! It's been a rough journey hehe..

But on the other hand.. I bought this design from romekun of dA! I'm planning to redesign her into
a canine, the human form is great and all but I have a vision for her as a canine hehe I can't wait.

I don't know how many versions of this thread has passed by without me posting, I'm way too lazy to keep upXD
Anyway;

I did an art trade a while back and it was two pieces of art for two pieces of art. I did my part within a day or two, and it's been over a month. Now they posted on dA that they were leaving dA... so I don't know what to do, should I ask them again? I already asked them once a couple weeks ago, but now that they said they were leaving I feel like I should give a friendly reminder? I just don't want my work to have gone to them for free and it be a waste of my time since I get nothing in return. They said they do comms before art trades, but like don't accept more comms until you finished owed art or something... Any tips on what I should do?

I'd contact them no matter what. If they're still working on commissions they accepted through dA there wouldn't be a reason for them to not finnish art trades they've accepted either.
Just ask in such a way that you don't sound like you're trying to rush them, just calmly explain that you want to know if they're still doing their part seeing as they're going to leave dA. It's a completely justified question for you to ask them and I wouldn't worry too much on how they'd react to your question. I'm sure they wouldn't mind talking it over with you if you only ask :>

Ended up making a fursona /w\

She's part Mule (unknown whether she is a Hinnie or not), and Mustang with just a tad bit of Quarter Horse. Wild little bab <3
No fears! If you think it looks weird that her mane stand up then just randomly flops over, then it's okay. I just thought it would be cute if her mane went "lame." It continues growing, even where it's lame. She also has little flyaways, hehe. nwn Also, her mane doesn't grow in that area where there's no hair due to a captering incident. It was the rancher's 'mark.' Kind of like a brand, except their mane is shaved a little behind their ears. No matter which design I hope to keep, I can't wait to write about her! <3

Genetic Explanation Section.

Mule.


A mule can beat a horse in an endurance race, they can go longer without water and they conserve their energy better than horses. The mule always appears to me a most surprising animal. That a hybrid should possess more reason, memory, obstinacy, social affection, powers of muscular endurance, and length of life, than either of its parents, seems to indicate that art has here outdone nature.

The mule inherits from its sire the traits of intelligence, sure-footedness, toughness, endurance, disposition, and natural cautiousness. From its dam it inherits speed, conformation, and agility. Mules exhibit a higher cognitive intelligence than their parent species. This is also believed to be the result of hybrid vigor, similar to how mules acquire greater height and endurance than either parent.

Handlers of working animals generally find mules preferable to horses: mules show more patience under the pressure of heavy weights, and their skin is harder and less sensitive than that of horses, rendering them more capable of resisting sun and rain. Their hooves are harder than horses', and they show a natural resistance to disease and insects.

In short, because of their characteristics that are important to have as a survivor. Also, their large, adorable ears and tails just helps <33



Mustang.


Native Americans quickly adopted the horse as a primary means of transportation. Horses replaced the dog as a travois puller and greatly improved success in battles, trade, and hunts, particularly bison hunts.[12]

"Mustang runners" were usually cowboys in the U.S. and vaqueros or mesteñeros in Mexico who caught, broke and drove free-ranging horses to market in the Spanish and later Mexican, and still later American territories of what is now Northern Mexico, Texas, New Mexico and California. They caught the horses that roamed the Great Plains and the San Joaquin Valley of California, and later in the Great Basin, from the 18th century to the early 20th century.[13][14]

Starting in the colonial era and continuing with the westward expansion of the 1800s, horses belonging to explorers, traders and settlers that escaped or were purposely released joined the gene pool of Spanish-descended herds. It was also common practice for western ranchers to release their horses to locate forage for themselves in the winter and then recapture them, as well as any additional mustangs, in the spring. Some ranchers also attempted to "improve" wild herds by shooting the dominant stallions and replacing them with pedigreed stallions

In short, being born and raised in the U.S.A. I feel that mustangs were a very, very large part of our history and myself being part Black Foot and Cherokee, it's somehow important that this lineage also runs through my fursona's blood too.



Quarter Horse.


The American Quarter Horse is an American breed of horse that excels at sprinting short distances. Its name came from its ability to outdistance other horse breeds in races of a quarter mile or less; some individuals have been clocked at speeds up to 55 mph (88.5 km/h). The American Quarter Horse is the most popular breed in the United States today, and the American Quarter Horse Association is the largest breed registry in the world, with more than 5 million American Quarter Horses registered.

The American Quarter Horse is well known both as a race horse and for its performance in rodeos, horse shows and as a working ranch horse. The compact body of the American Quarter Horse is well-suited to the intricate and speedy maneuvers required in reining, cutting, working cow horse, barrel racing, calf roping, and other western riding events, especially those involving live cattle. The American Quarter Horse is also shown in English disciplines, driving, and many other equestrian activities.
The American Quarter Horse is best known today as a show horse, race horse, reining and cutting horse, rodeo competitor, ranch horse, and all-around family horse. Quarter horses compete well in rodeo events such as barrel racing, calf roping and team roping;[citation needed] and gymkhana or O-Mok-See.[20] Other stock horse events such as cutting and reining are open to all breeds but also dominated by American Quarter Horse.

Rodeos run through my veins, it's only fair that the Quarter horse's blood is also in my fursona's as well. She inherited their speed and agility, but not endurance. She received her endurance from the mule.

Physical Appearance Section.

Ears.
It's true. I'm a sucker for overly large ears. The Mule allowed me to incorporate this into my fursona. I don't have large ears myself or anything, this is just something that I wanted her to have. <3
Mane/Tail.
The mane and tail. Okay. I didn't want her to have a normal horse tail. They're pretty, just not for me. Again, where the mule comes in. Now, her mane.. I didn't want a normal horse mane, neither. It's just somehow important that she has that spikey mane that goes a little lame. My hair is always soft and silky, so would be her mane and tail. Except her mane is very stiff at the base and the ends are softer, but not too soft they won't stand on their own. The tail, however, is like pure silk. Extremely soft. Her mane tries to come to a complete point like a zebra's, but isn't stiff enough for it. Which is why it goes lame.
Feathering.
I can't help it. I'm a sucker for feathering, too. I suppose this would come from a very fluffy mustang c': My hair is really thick, so as would be her feathering. <3
Hooves.
I fall head over heels with any horse that has two colored feet like her. It's only natural I incorporate it. <33
Coat color.
I absolutely love reds. Which is where the Quarter Horse comes in, physical appearance wise! <3
White Markings.
I adore simple markings on horses, so of course I had to incorporate that. I couldn't really decide if I wanted no white on the back hoof or the front hoof, but I decided to go with the front left since I've broken my left wrist before. Lame reason, but, hey!
Green eyes.
I have green eyes, so I had to have that in there. nwn
"Fly Aways."
Basically just a lame excuse to show I have naturally wavy/curly hair. cx Plus, I mean, I just thought it'd add to the "unique" factor. nwn
