This female was rather the prier. Though Death had the distinct feeling she meant no harm with her question. he wasn't used to this; being around someone that didn't have bad feelings about him- or bad intentions. Death was still a bit wary, though he'd found this rukami to be one he could potentially get along with. No. He needed to not get familiar with the idea of such a rukami being around him, he had a hard job that had taught him long ago that everyone dies. Being friends with her would only end in lost sleep and worry. Not that after this he had any intention of seeing her, save of course, except when she died. 'What a cold thought to have' he thought to himself frowning as his own pessimistic attitude. Death could never be called an optimist but pessimism was below him- he considered the best way of thinking to be realism which is how he usually was.

"So many conditional words," he murmured sympathetically. Little speech things were something he'd learned to pick up on, often the souls of rukami wanted to give it one last fight before they retired. They would never win of course sense the scythe he had, stowed away right now, could take them at any moment. If they didn't fight then they spoke, in that he'd learned to recognize the differences in tense. Deciding to not touch base on that fact she had used was instead of is when comparing to her sister- which of course meant death or estrangement- he turned towards a less personal topic. "So you weren't born in spring ,eh, you look like a autumn rukami to me. But what would I know," he ended with a little self deprecation, but hey, it wouldn't hurt anyone.

Death glanced at the female as she spoke, making eye contact with her for half a moment before turning his head away again. "Thank you." There wasn't much to say. He almost regretted his name wasn't actually Daemon, if- no when she found out his real name she wouldn't be so quick to compliment him. At her question he frowned ears lying flat on his head. Death of course didn't have parents he had creators. Perking up again he realized Daemon and him didn't have to be alike in any way, he could be someone different in front of her. Quickly racking his brain for the meaning of said name he answered ,"My parents I would suppose didn't really realize the meaning that came along with the name. Tamer- Guardian spirit. Could never really figure out which, but both work."

They fell into a comfortable silence for a few minuets and he took the time to calm his heart rate. It felt wrong lying for any reason, he hadn't lied in many, many years. However the alternative of telling the truth sent the same unpleasant feeling through him. His orange eyes were cast to the thicker forested area they were coming upon, and he couldn't help feel a bit of foreboding. Soon they would be at his makeshift den, and then what? Would they sit there in silence, or would she ask more questions. He wasn't sure which he would prefer at this point. The female had a pleasant voice and personality, but lying was bad. Accidentally slipping up would be worse.

A small sound of amusement rumbled in his chest. "I wander," he responded in turn. If only she realized how much of his life he did spent making his way through the lay of the world. Pausing for a heart beat he turned towards her a nonchalant look on his face now. "You don't have to make it seem like you're apologizing for asking questions," giving reasons to ask about him at this point would no longer be necessary. He'd agreed to share his den with her it only made sense that she would want to know things about him. "Feel free to ask me anything you wish from now till we depart."

[ wthecky I'm in to deep man I briefly compared Death to Rumpelstiltskin ;u; more like I'm crying for ten years because wow I made a mistake //my comparison will probably change his personality now a little bit- when he's angry he'll be furious and every other moment it'll be confusing and eccentric but still cold and calculating. //Also Rumpelstiltskin bae as heck//
Plus Hikaru reminds me of belle. Cause she smart and like brave and represents life and everything Idk man to many feels //cries ]

"Perhaps," Hikaru simply shrugged at the other Rukami's comment. Perhaps there were conditional words that she had put in there without realizing it. She had simply spoken the truth of her life. It was up to others how they read and interpreted that.

"I may look like an Autumnal Rukami, but I was just born about a month too early - along with my sister. She was normal, I came with the glow." She offered matter-of-factly. And with a little ability to bring the dead to life, but that's nothing out of the ordinary. She thought with a wry smile. Though as she thought about it, and her family, how she came to learn of her powers came to mind and she sobered up pretty quickly. Her ears folded back some, before she could help it. Then she shook her head to dislodge the thoughts as best as she could.

Nodding at Daemon's explanation of his name, she accepted the lie as if it were truth. Why would she believe him to be lying about something as simple as a name? Even though he'd been snappish in the beginning, he was being friendly enough now - even seeming to open up some. Hikaru liked to believe in the best of others, so of course she'd trust him to be honest about what he was telling her. So what if he paused in answering her questions? Maybe he wasn't used to prying 'kamis or even to sharing things about himself with others.

"Should I expect a tamed creature or creatures to be lurking in your den then? Or are you just good at taming others of our kind?" She joked, her tail flicking his way once, flinging a bit of water toward the darker male's flank.

"And thank you for that. The same to you," she dipped her head. Hikaru didn't expect him to offer such a thing. Daemon didn't seem like one who was open with others - well, he didn't seem like he was around others for a long period of time. Of course, she wasn't normally either, though she was from time to time like now.

"Some take my questions as rude prying, and can be quite harsh about sharing their feeling about it. So I prefer to offer clarifications from the get-go nowadays." She offered by way of explanation. "Is your den up ahead?" She inquired, gesturing toward where the trees looked as though they were thinning; it could be a clearing, by a cliff face, a river, or something else entirely. With the rain coming down like it was, it was difficult to judge in the unfamiliar forest. Of course, for Daemon, it was likely easier since he seemed to have been living there longer than she had.

((Omg I can see it x3 You're going to ruin it for me, now I'll probably only see them two haha

"Early huh," he questioned actually curious. It was rather rare for things like that to happen in the Rukami worlds unless there was something wrong genetically. He shook his head at his own idea, what a rude thought. He seemed to be full of those today. "The glow suits you," he said without thinking. Embarrassment crept into him and he lashed his tail in an irritated manner, the irritation of course was directed at himself. A slightly sulking look crossed his face and he speed up a little bit so she wouldn't be privy to him acting like that. While he faced his own inner turmoil he missed Hikaru's upset demeanor. "I was born right on time, only me though so I guess you'd count me an abnormally of a lower kind." Not quiet the truth. He had three brothers and a sister, but trying to lie about all them would be much to much work.

Quickly regaining his composed air he looked back at her just in time to see her accepting nod. Death couldn't help but smile at that- a short lopsided half grin but one none the less. How kind of her to accept him with no questions asked. Way to make a brute feel worse. Turned back towards the muddy grass trail he reminded himself that this was all his own fault. He had hunted something she had been chasing for hours, he'd offered her to come to his den, and most of all he'd lied about who he was. Whatever happened at this point happened.

Despite the unrelenting rain he could feel the few droplets she aimed in his direction. "Are you saying I've tamed you," he answered in an amused voice. Still chuckling lowly he answered ,"No however, it's been just me for a long time in respects to our kind. I do have a lovely little raven companion, but he's probably out looking for food as I was trying." He'd acquired the pet, for lack of a better term, many seasons ago and it'd been a loyal companion for longer than anything else that he'd meet. Then again like him his bird was near impossible to kill.

Death nodded his head in reply, glad she offered him the same privileges. Though he was unlikely to question her to much. A rukami like her was probably not very interested in answering his questions. Perhaps he could share a story or two with her while they were waiting out the storm, of course it would all have to be lies so maybe not.

"How anyone could mistake you as rude is beyond me," he replied honestly. In those first few angered moments when they had first ran into each other he had resented her kindness and laid back demeanor. He looked up at the trees again, just able to make on a faint scent trail left by himself earlier on his way to hunt. "Yes we're very close." Weary and excited to be out of the rain he sped up to a slow run, it was only a couple hundred meters and then he saw it. The yawning gaping whole in the cliff side. It lead far into the mountain though he'd only ventured far enough in to find a dry spot that offered protection from the rain.

Stopping only once he was a very yards in the cave he turned back to her. "It's not much, but it's dry." He almost felt embarrassed about the sloppy look he'd left it in. There were deep scratches in the cave wall and clumps of dirt missing from the compact dirt floor. He hadn't meant to stay here any longer than a day really but he had and his obvious anger at something was left obvious by the cave. In all honesty it'd just been because he'd tried to deal with one of his few acquaintances, and it had only infuriated him.

[[ I'm laughing and crying about this now man c'x We messed up big time. Our little babes gonna go through so much angsty pain because I dared to mention them looking like a parallel of Rumbelle
I feel it so much oh my god <3 I wasn't sure how you'd feel about that but like Life and Death as a pairing oh gosh the best plus now we've compared them to Rumpelstiltskin and Belle so it's real
Also Death actually does have a pet raven uvu <3 Hecka cute little green eye'd thing you probably saw it when you saw his forum ]]

Chapter One

Postby wolfpuppies » Wed Mar 18, 2015 9:19 am

Hikaru was surprised by the other Rukami's words. Both by his flattering comment and then by his own self-deprecating comment of sorts. She was caught off guard again as he increased his pace, thinking she had done something to agitate him. Perhaps it was because she had reminded him of sores from his past? Brow furrowed, she too increased her pace until she was once again walking alongside him.

"I think it's fine," she finally said after a moment of silence. "We're both anomalies of our kind, but who's to say we're so much lower than the rest? If anything, I think our glow - and our hair - puts us above the others," she smiled his way.

"Ha! It'd take more than this to tame me. Sorry to burst your bubble." She laughed. It was a richer laugh than her earlier surprised bubbly laugh. This one rumbled from her chest and was throatier; her eyes also sparkled with mischief briefly before the emotion disappeared. "A raven? My, that's quite interesting. What's his name?"

Once again, Daemon picked up the pace with no warning. Though this time she had a guess as to why. She followed after the darker male, just as eager to be out of the rain and muck as he was. It didn't take long for them to break free of the forest, and just as she expected, beyond the treeline sat a tall mountain. In its cliff side was a yawning cavern, likely an old den site for many a creature. Now a temporary home for Daemon and his companion, and a quick rain shelter for the pair of them.

Staying by the mouth of the den, Hikaru shook out her coat once more. This time she made sure to get as much water and mud from her fur as she could - as well as keep as much from reaching too far into the den as possible. Starting from her muzzle, she shook everything out until she felt less sopping and filthy and more along the lines of damp and dirty. It still wasn't ideal, but until the downpour let up, she wouldn't be able to get her coat clean and keep it clean anyway.

Turning toward the den, she gazed around with curious eyes. From what she could tell, it wasn't very lived in. Daemon seemed to only stay in the cavern when needed. Which was in times of inclement weather or for sleep most likely from the patches of dirt and indents in the ground. As for the scratches, I'm sure there's a good reason for them somewhere.... She thought, her eyes skirting over them briefly then away.

"It certainly is," she smiled his way appreciatively. Settling away from the mouth, Hikaru was content to rest closer to the shadows of the cavern - as far away from the rain and wind as she could get without being rude. "It's certainly more than I have usually. I tend to keep to large burrows, large trees' roots, glades, or stuff of the like. They're protected well on the sides, but not always the greatest from the weather." She shrugged nonchalantly.

Then she cast a glance to the tunnel leading farther in. Now that her senses weren't immediately clogged by water, she could smell a great deal easier. And she could tell that Daemon hadn't wandered further into the cavern. The lighter Rukami wondered why. Was it for lack of curiousity? Or had his intuition told him not to?

"Are you not worried that this tunnel could lead out to another den and someone or something could sneak up on you from behind?" She inquired, her gaze still turned toward the shadows of the cavern. "Or are you not interested in discovering what curiosities might lay in an unsearched cave?"

((Haha, omg I can't wait. It's going to be great, even as it kills me x3
Same, I was worried that you wouldn't like the pairing. But that was cleared up when you made the reference to OUAT cx
Can't wait to see their babies running around~
And I know, that's why I mentioned the tamed critter. I wanted to see if you'd decided to keep it as a companion or not in this story line ^^))

Re: Life and Death Encounter (1x1 with << Undertaker >>)

Postby growl.lingo » Wed Mar 18, 2015 12:15 pm

Death once again felt his pelt prickle at her kind acceptance of him. "I would never say anything was better than me- or us," the correction was barely in an after thought, even in the short time he'd known her he'd been able to decide she was a step above all the rest. At her mention of their hair he unknowingly tossed his head back a little bit his other eye now able to be seen. This one also had the same odd glow emanating from it, but was a great deal brighter than the other. The glow was only seen briefly as his hair once again fell into place.

He grinned back at her, tilting his head slightly. "That so? Seems you're quiet inclined to let me take the lead though," he pointed out almost good naturedly. Death quiet enjoyed the fact he'd been able to amuse her, perhaps there was a way that some creature as good as her could live a long time. It'd only be fair sense a creature like him was allowed to life forever. "His name is Dust," he answered after a moment. "There's not really a meaning behind it," he added encase she might wonder why.

As soon as Hikaru began to shake her coat out he became conscientious of his own muddied pelt. Following her lead he also shook out his pelt, careful now unlike the first time to not lead any of the mud hit her. His coat was still discolored and he felt gross, but he also knew that there was no way to achieve a real clean feeling until the rains stopped.

Death watched her as she observed the cave, his fur prickling defensively as she looked over the long scared marks on the walls and floor. When he realized she had decided not to mention it, he also decided not to. There was no reason to bother her with his troubles. Though, his acquaintance may eventually cause trouble for the sun colored female. Gritting his teeth to stop from saying anything he resolved that if it came down to it he would specially tell his 'friend' to leave this one alone. Not that he believed this so called friend would ever do anything for him without wishing for something in return.

The brute stood up and walked a few feet closer to her as she moved further into the cave. Of course not to be close to her- it was because he didn't want to have to make her speak loudly to be heard over the wind and rain. Obviously. "I'm surprised you don't belong to a tribe." Tribes took good care of their members, he would assume she might want in on something where she would be around other Rukami in a friendly way. "I wouldn't doubt they would fight over such a talented member," he said referencing the fact that she most definitely would have caught the deer- of course that being if hadn't shown up.

"It never really crossed my mind to be worried." It was the truth. Afterall he was death, he didn't fear fights with other animals really, his unnatural abilities always gave him an advantage. Realizing she may find it out that he worried so little about things that could harm him he continued. "I'm rarely in here long enough for any thing else to even have the chance to think about fighting me, is what I meant."

Death's job didn't usually leave him time to wonder about things, but he could do little in this weather. Not to mention she was right, perhaps he should check out the cave. What type of reputation would he have if he let his companion get harmed because he wasn't kinetically aware. "Are you interested?" He queried back. "We could go explore. If you're not to tired," he added, his cave had been quiet the little walk and there was no telling how long she'd been out hunting.

[[ Yes it shall be the best uvu I'm thinking the first fall out would be upon her discovering he's Death. tbh I feel like she wouldn't even be that mad about him being death [ at least not at first ] and be more hurt that he lied to her
Tbh I didn't even know you watched ouat cx so it was really a shot in the dark comparison I didn't realize we'd understand each other <3

Postby wolfpuppies » Wed Mar 18, 2015 2:58 pm

Hikaru smiled over at the male. She admired that he had similar traits to her - even down to his more unnaturally colored coat. The fact that they shared the same features in regards to the glowing eyes and the longer forehead hair was amazing to her. Sure she'd met others who'd had either bright fur or longer fur growing on their head, but both? Never. And never had she ever encountered another with similar glowing eyes.

I wonder if he's the same as me? Can he also revive others? Do our eyes reveal our abilities? She pondered. The golden female watched as Daemon loped over to her and then snorted at his next comment.

"Only because I didn't want to be rude," she scoffed. "Next time I'll remember to lead a Rukami to their own den. Duly noted." She teased.

"Dust. Hmm. I like it," she murmured with a quick bob of her head.

"As for a tribe? I've passed through a few I suppose, as well as a few small family clusters that weren't quite tribes." It always started with her passing nearby for hunting and her ending up healing at least one individual in need. That's why she often avoided going near any large gathering of their kind. "And it's never been a good fit for me before. Hence why I'm still traveling around." She finally continued after a significant pause.

Again she nodded her head. It made sense. Like she'd noticed with her earlier observation, Daemon didn't seem to be in the cavern more than he needed to. So if the place seemed safe enough, that was likely good enough for him. That and he was a large enough male that he likely wouldn't need to worry about much. Not as much as a slimmer female like she would; of course she was lucky that when she wasn't soaking wet that her thicker coat helped to give her a little bit of a bulkier appearance.

Glancing from the tunnel to the male, Hikaru thought for a moment. She hadn't eaten much in the past twenty four hours, just some fruit and roots - her usual daily food. She hadn't eaten meat in roughly a month, hence why she'd been on the hunt. So, yes, she was a little more tired than usual. But not so much so that she couldn't explore a little bit. Plus, it would help to pass the time and would likely help to keep from prying questions about her past from coming up.

"Sounds like you're challenging me," she chuffed in a joking manner. Rising up, she stretched quickly before glancing toward the male. "So if I ask you to take the lead, it'll lead you to think you've tamed me. That'll make me want to take the lead then, does that mean I'll have tamed you?" She tilted her head, tail waving behind her as she kept her spirits up. It had been a long time since another Rukami hadn't acted a certain way toward her because of her abilities. She hadn't been treated 'normally' in so long, she didn't realize how much she missed it, how much fun and enjoyable it could be. Why do others crave to be so different when being normal is so wonderful, so full of acceptance?

((Definitely, especially since she's naturally a more trusting individual. We'll have to figure out where in their regular encountering that ends up happening~
I don't any more I'm afraid - I stopped watching tv altogether for a while, right after Rumple left I think? - and I haven't gotten into some of my old shows again sadly. Do you still watch it? owo
Might have to make some ship art for them soon ;3 Also when would you want to breed their first litter? I'm probably fine with as soon as now or waiting until later; I usually only have a requirement of rp before breeding and I'm more than happy with where this is going <3))

Death grinned at her. In mock offense he placed a paw on his chest managing the best offended look he could. "I would expect nothing less of you next time." He broke off the sentence quickly, the irritated look flashed on his face for a half a moment as it had before when he'd been just a little bit to nice to her. 'Next time,' he scolded himself ,'You get your hopes up like it's a for sure thing'. He would deny wanting to see her again even if someone asked. How would those who feared him feel if they saw him right now; grinning and being friendly with this sunshine rukami female.

"He does too," he assured with a small grin at the thought of his only constant companion. He briefly wondered where he might be right now, but shook off any worry. The Raven was more than capable of taking care of him self. Even if he wasn't Dust would not be allowed to die in till Death failed to exist.

The brute waited in the silence for her to continue. He must have hit some type of nerve with his question. Duelly noted. Though he was curious as to why she hadn't found a home with a tribe, he'd met very few loner that were truly happy as such. However, he had no doubt she would one day find the home she was looking for. Death had high hopes for this 'Kami he had only just met. Something about her just seemed good, well everything. From her kind acceptance, and naive trust to her quick rebuttals and sharp wit. "I'm sure you'll find what ever it is that you're still looking for," he said after a few moments went by,

Death looked down the dark passage almost frowning. It had been lame of him to never think to explore down there, though he supposed it was understandable. He had had no intention of staying here for more than the night anyway. Even Death didn't want to travel in weather this bad though. Making a face he looked down at his fur again which was still damp. He was cold all the way through, and could almost wish for the warmth of summer. Not that he ever would, during summer he found the heat stifling and even more unbearable than the cold.

Turning to look at Hikaru he saw the contemplating look on her face as she looked down the cave also. In that moment he finally began to notice how lithe she was. He'd taken the fluff of her fur for her build. Now that he could see her with her fur plastered flat from the rain he cringed. Perhaps this wasn't the best idea, he knew he could protect himself if something was down there, but he didn't want her getting hurt for some adventure.

Just when he was about to suggest maybe just sleeping for a bit she spoke up. Her words were reassuring enough that he dropped the idea of not going to adventure. Hikaru didn't seem like the kind who would appreciate being coddled anyway. "You'd be in for the challenge of a life time*," he said standing up, his tail curling upwards in brief excitement. "Tame me," he questioned with a scoff as he mimicked her ,"It'd take more than this to tame me." He let his tail sway behind him also in a friendly manner also, grinning boldly at his open friendly jibe.

[[ I do think we talked about having my pup rukami getting killed [ perhaps I'll tie this sorta friend of Death's into the pups death ] and her deciding to save him, when Death shows up with his scythe ready to take his soul. Oh my how dramatic that would be ;u; <3
I do still watch it ouo always <3 This show is basically my life my friends get so tired of me talking about Rum but like? The Dark one is bae for life.
Right after he left you say though which time? With Peter Pan and the thing or the town line thing? [ It's all very vague on purpose I hate accidental spoilers ]
I feel it man <3 I might go get my tablet rn actually. I think now would be cool actually I'm pretty excited to see how their pups turn out oh my, so cute ;u; ]]

Chapter One

Postby wolfpuppies » Sun Mar 22, 2015 5:52 pm

The female glanced at Daemon out of the corner of her eye slyly. Then she gave another laugh and shook her head, as if she couldn't believe the male. It was partially true. From their initial talk, she had thought him negative and distant. Yet it seemed she was very wrong. And Hikaru felt bad for judging the other Rukami as she had. How often had she been judged at first glance, after her abilities? And how often had others continued to let those judgments color their perceptions of her? She had sworn to never do that, and yet she had done just that with Daemon. She felt horrible for betraying herself and him for doing so.

Turning to face him more fully, Hikaru's ears pricked. Then she dipped her head, slowly raising it. A kind smile had appeared on her face. The blue-gray male hadn't pried as to why she had paused so significantly about why she wasn't yet in a tribe. So for his kind comment and for that, she was grateful. "Thank you. I wish the same for you and Dust," she replied.

"Ha! Sounds to me like you just keep challenging me." She lifted her head. "Are you secretly trying to see if I'll do it? See who wins in the end?" She teased.

Tail still swishing behind her, with a trailing in her wake, Hikaru turned and began to lope down the dark tunnel. The glow from her eyes wasn't much to go off of, and the light from outside didn't penetrate far into the passage. Pausing, the female glanced back toward her new-found traveling companion. She wondered how she would be perceived if she were to let the glow of her paws out. Though she usually revealed it when she was healing others, she could control the light just around her paws; most of the time she consumed energy to keep the light hidden. Would he react differently, since he didn't have a similar trait, so he probably wouldn't have been exposed to it? Or would he accept it as he had everything else about her? Would he treat her differently like the others always did?

She almost wanted to feign sudden tiredness so she wouldn't have to share the light that emanated from her paws. But they were enjoying themselves so much, and she hadn't had this much fun in a long time. Was it worth the risk? She wasn't sure at first. But then she shook off her doubt. No risk, no reward. And what was one more 'kami treating her differently than all the others? It was par for the course being born the way she was.

"If we're going to go down dark creepy tunnels, we'll need some light, yes?" She spoke the question rhetorically. Closing her eyes to brace herself for Daemon's reaction, the striped female took a deep breath, lifted a paw, and released her breath in a long sigh. As she breathed out, the glow grew softly and steadily from her pads in both paws. Then, almost hesitantly, she peeked open her eyes and glanced at the male to see how he was taking her sudden reveal. "Tada~" She offered with a weak laugh.

Re: Life and Death Encounter (1x1 with << Undertaker >>)

Death grinned back at her as she laughed, more than proud he was able to elicit such a sound from anyone specially this Rukami. How quickly this fae had him acting docile and nice, though he supposed it was easier pretending he wasn't who he really was. Unable to completely banish his smile he his head away, aware he was grinning like some adolescent kit who thought it'd just met the best fae. The oddest comparison for someone like him, but he had lived a long time and would attest to her probably being the best.

Death aloud himself another small smile as she reciprocated the wish for end to searching to whatever it was he looked for. He had few wishes, but perhaps he wasn't to old to start looking for some new ones. Yeah, he was capable of that.

He let out a small sound of amusement ,"Perhaps, though your knack for defusing the moment has me believing that it'll never come own to that." Death grinned slightly, shrugging- no easy feat due to do scars on his shoulder not that they hurt but they would never heal and still opened on occasion. "I have the distinct feeling you're a bit stronger than you look," not that he doubted his ability to win- after all he had been alive long enough to learn a few tricks, but she might put up a bigger fight than he was willing to endure.

Death barely stopped in time to not run into her, perplexed for a moment as to why she had stopped. He tilted his head, slightly a confused look on his face. In the same moment realization dawned on him. He was a creature of the night, he traveled and lived in darkness for nearly his whole life. In the light of day it was obvious he belonged to the darkness, an odd shadow seemed to follow him, darker places got darker when he was around and even sunny places didn't seem to glow as much when he was around. However she was obviously a creature of light she wouldn't have the same night vision as he did.

Deciding to keep quiet about his ability to see in the dark he waited for her to say something. He perked up glad she was finally addressing why she had stopped ,"That would make sense," he agreed. "Though how do you suppose we'll manage that..," he trailed off as her paws started to glow as if in answer to his question. His smile only brightened at the sudden revelation. "You're so completely full of surprising aren't you," he said walking around her to stand by her side. "Where'd you learn this," he asked motioning at her paws with his own.

Chapter One

Postby wolfpuppies » Thu Apr 23, 2015 2:42 pm

"Perhaps it was all a ruse," she teased. Of course it wasn't. Hikaru truly did prefer to keep the peace with others. Even if if meant that she had to stand down or seem as though she were submitting when she didn't want to. And the other Rukami worded it perfectly - it was a knack she had. She had she since was young and had just honed and improved upon the skill growing up. That didn't mean she couldn't stand up for herself or fight - nor that she wouldn't if it really came down to it. It was just that she was generally a lot lither than others of her kind, so she had to find other ways around the general quick-to-fight mentality many held. So why not utilize what talents she had rather than risk her hide every time she encountered an initially angry or aggressive member of her species?

The lighter female gave Daemon a moment to process her glowing paws. And in that moment she was bracing herself for anything that could come. The easy acceptance he'd had so far. The sudden shift in demeanor as he reassessed her. Or even the potential for the reverence that many held for her; though that usually came after they saw her powers in action.

As he spoke and came around to stand by her side, Hikaru breathed out in a rush of air. She hadn't even realized that she had been holding her breath. She had only known that she had tensed as soon as she had begun to release her tight hold over the light that emanated from her paws. When he seemed to just easily accept her glowing paws, the female eyed him warily, though hope still glimmered within them. When it seemed as though the male were genuine, she pricked her ears and felt the last bit of her tension leave her body.

"You don't think it's peculiar? Or unnatural?" She murmured, still a little shocked. "You're full of surprises yourself." The golden Rukami still couldn't believe that he was so ready to accept this with little doubt or question.

"I don't think it can be learned. At least I don't think so..." she spoke, glancing at the light which radiated from each of her forepaws. "The glow came about when I was still a pup living with my parents, so I've had it pretty much my entire life." Along with the power to bring others up from the dead. But that's no big deal either, right?

"What about you? Any tricks of the trade you care to show since I shared something?" She tilted her head, back to her teasing tone. She didn't want to think on the past or on her powers any more. Instead, she'd rather focus on the surprising Rukami at her side and the interesting cave tunnel - or tunnels - they had laying ahead of them. "Or are you trying to keep them all a secret and make me reveal all mine?"
