In the small town of Ashwick, people live an average life. It's a quiet little place, built along the ocean‘s coast, but there is still much to do. On the surface, everything appears to be normal. But under the water, some individuals hold a secrete. There are to types of species: Merfolk and a human Merfolk offspring. The Merfolk are children of other Merfolk and must remain in the ocean. They can go to the surface, or even on land, but only for a couple hours at a time, and their tail will always remain part of them. Many of them also have other scaly parts to help them swim, like webbed fingers. The other species is a hybrid. They are the children of a Merfolk and human. When they touch the water, their legs are replaced by a scaly tail, a fin strategically placed along the end. These mermaids and merman can not control this. Even if a drop of water touches their skin, they will change. Once they are dry they get their legs back, though it takes awhile. Many of these creatures' human parents don't know of their secret, as it is forbidden to tell them. Most female Merfolk leave their mate when they realize they are pregnant with a partially human baby. These creatures were never allowed to exist, but some do anyways. There is an underwater village built next to a coral reef that some choose to live in, but many also liven the surface. But there are humans too, most of whom do not know about these creatures. Will these aquatic creatures be able to successfully hide their secret, or will the humans find out about them?

Personality: Jay is a confident and independent person, who is logical and very intelligent. Some people think he is a little cruel and unemotional, just because he doesn't babble on about his feelings all the time as some people do. Outbursts of either anger or joy are both very rare for him, since he tries to keep himself under control at all times. He tends to deflect any personal questions and will hardly tell you more then just his name.
He is an introverted person, and dislikes crowds and strangers. Some people may think that he is shy, but really, he simply find parties and crowds to be unpleasant. He prefers to keep things calm and logical, and he doesn't like noise and chaos.
The thoughts and opinions of other people don't matter very much to him. If someone didn't like him, then he wouldn't lose any sleep over it. Those who he does grow to care about, he is very protective over.

Personality: She's a very independent girl, but will occasionally turn to others for help. Only if she thinks it's completely necessary though. She hates taking orders from anybody and can be snappy or rude if you annoy her but she usually doesn't talk much, unless she is with someone she knows well. She's very determined and if she has her mind set on doing something, she won't stop until she has accomplished it. She usually doesn't talk much but it's not because she's shy, because she's not. She'll speak her mind when she thinks it's necessary but when it isn't she's usually by herself. She get's flustered and embarrassed easily, but tries to act like she's not. She's sly and good with working her way out of tricky situations. She looses attention in things quickly, so she's often bored, and finds interest in anything apart from the normal.

Personality: Zach is generally a very open and social guy. Although he is not very good at doing so, he loves to make new acquaintances and talking to people. At the mention of almost anything even slightly embarrassing, he will blush and become very uncomfortable. At these times he'll just get silent and not say anything, or quickly attempt to change the subject. At the sight of blood or anything similar, he tends to be a bit squeamish. It's hard for him to grow close to somebody, but once he does he can be very clingy and won't leave you alone.
He's very innovative and it always trying to think of a way to make something dull or boring into something exciting. He's constantly thinking about the future and any possibilities that could await him.
Other: He spends the majority of his tines in the water.

Personality: Cyris is a rather odd being. She plays out her life simply according to what interests her. Living as long as she has, she has since gave up trying to look good in others eyes or befriend them. She does what she wants and nothing more. Although she is not exactly cruel, she doesn't take other people's emotions into consideration and tends to act on impulse. She doesn't think about the outcomes that could befall and doesn't seem to have a real value of her life. If she died, then so be it. She takes special interest in the humans, and can often be found near the shore, staying mostly away from them bytes often simply watching them with peaked curiosity. She disregards any established rules, preferring to live her life according to her own. The only thing she does show care for are other sea creatures, such as turtles or dolphins and would protect them as much as she would herself.

and walk with the humans, but I can only lay on a rock or shore for a short
period of time. Even when I'm out of the water, my tail is a constant
reminder of what I am. I do like to watch the humans and learn things from
them, but I cannot let them see me. I'm actually working up the courage to
interact with a human. It may be against the rules, but my curiosity is too
strong. If I fell in love with a human? Then so be it. I might even spill my
secret to someone if I truly loved them and they loved me. I'm not scared
of the consequences of my actions."

wants a short buff guy then I'm your man. By the way, I'm not short.

track here. So I lived in New Jersey with my Italian mother and
American step-father. Because of my families background of being
Italian and my mother being from Italy, I can speak the language
fluently. In fact, I was speaking both languages as a young child."
