Dusty Crophopper - Propwash Junction

"Well I... I suppose I'm what... people get excited for." Dusty said hesitantly, the words sounding so foreign to him, which Spray seemed to pick up on right away. When Spray commented that Dusty really didn't seem like a big shot air racer or certainly like any he'd met over the years, the firefighter blinked here, and looked back at him after having looked away in a distracted fashion. "Oh! I'm not?" he asked here, as if surprised, but seemed to recover quickly. "Well I guess that's because I... I... you know... came from well... this!" he said, nodding behind Spray and looking all about him. "It's... not something I can really ever forget... nor would I want to. See this is all kind of still new to me, you know? The fame, the fortune and well... sure I let it get to my head for a little while but... I recently had a very uh... humbling experience that reminded me about who I really was... and well... showed me who I could be!" Dusty said, his eyes staring off into the distance as he reminisced about his time at Piston Peak. A smile traced itself under his nose, and he appeared to be quite pleased with these memories.

"So yeah... that's why I'm not well you know... I guess swept away by the fame and calling for my fans. Because while I certainly appreciate my fans... I haven't forgotten my roots either." The smile widened here, and his eyes came to rest once more on Spray.

Spray blinked, but said nothing as Dusty explained. A smile crossed his own front as he nodded. "Yeah. Well, good thing too. Unlike some racers I've met, you're much more modest and... I like that."

At the words 'swept away' though, he tensed for the briefest of moments before he shoved those particular memories aside. He forced his mind back to the issue at hand. He looked around and noticed the yellow helicopter parked close by to the older Corsair, and he blinked. How come he had never seen her before?

(Jigsaw is a P-51 not a Corsair XD //too lazy to code)

Jigsaw did not seem surprised by Foxtrot's sudden appearance, considering from the look on his face he was pretty interested in chatting up the helicopter next to him. He resisted rolling his eyes at the other's comment.

(I don't think Jigsaw likes Foxtrot very much already haha
And alright! I'm on my laptop now so I'll be working on their forums right away)

((Just an FYI, I'm likely not gonna be on until much later tomorrow, if at all... I'm going to a math competition that's gonna last all day... and short post tonight 'cause I have to do some homework and get to bed early... I'll try to be more active this weekend, if I can.))

Abby|CHROME Headquarters
The mix breed smiled a little when the Aston Martin used her nickname... that was the first time someone had done something like that in a long time. The explanation for why she'd been chosen, though, wasn't all that reassuring. Either way, though, she had to prove herself or she'd never get anywhere in the organization. "Er... yeah, I could probably handle it... Agent Carlisle's coming with, too, isn't she?" she asked, knowing all too well of the answer mere seconds after the words were spoken. Nervousness was getting the better of her, though, and as a result she didn't watch if what she was saying made any sense... she probably just made herself look like an idiot, and, of course, she was fidgeting again. Criminals from all over the world... gathering in one state of America, on top of the whole situation being her first mission. She didn't even know what to think, but she did know it meant danger; the thoughts about adventure filled her mind at the same time as thoughts of worry... what if she didn't make it out? She didn't know, but she didn't exactly fear the unknown, either.

((No worries Dream! I have to call it an early night myself due to appointments I have tomorrow... ugh! Can't wait to just stay up late and not worry about getting up in the morning! XD Weekend should be better for that though! :) Also long post again, but I'm introducing a new OC of mine!))

Dusty Crophopper - Propwash Junction

Dusty nodded once in response again, still smiling. "Thanks! I try to be! Wouldn't be worth much if I wasn't." Dusty commented here, being interrupted by what was going on with Foxtrot and that new helicopter. The firefighter sighed and rolled his eyes at Foxtrot's attempts to make conversation. From what Bravo and Echo told him, Foxtrot was an outrageous flirt, and now Dusty might just see that in action as he turned to the side to face the two.

Unknown to him now though, as he wasn't facing the head of the runway, a small, bizarre looking... dart of a plane was gliding in for a landing. He made absolutely no sound, as there was no engine currently running on him. He really did resemble a dart with wings, his body fat and squat, but strangely streamlined as well. His cockpit was all the way forward, and he sported an unusual looking shrub style camouflage paint all over his body. As he lined up with the runway, he depressed his flaps and lowered something from his underside... but instead of landing gear, a skid could be seen dropping down. It was quite the mishmash then, but his landing was perfect, and he touched down hard but smoothly, the skid making a thudding noise and then a grating sound as he skidded to a halt, decelerating rapidly from friction alone.

As he came to a halt, his body rocking forward like the bobble on a car antenna, he looked around with discerning eyes, but appeared powerless to actually move at the moment, having no wheels to go along with his skid. His eyes settled on the group of of mostly aircraft gathering at the Fill N' Fly. Ahhh a fuel station... most excellent! But he hadn't come here just for a refueling, though that was of course necessary for him at this stage. But he'd really come here seeking old war planes like himself, and one in particular he'd heard of thanks to the exploits of a recent American racer... but who was this curious plane? He was:

Full Name - Oskar von Scharnhorst

Preferred Name - Oskar, though some of his close friends are permitted to call him Komet.

Family - None living, and he's never married.

Relationship Status - Oskar is single, but has never been able to bring himself to seek a significant other.

Occupation - Former fighter-interceptor, but now long since retired. No current occupation.

Make/Model - Messerschmitt Me 163 Komet

Current Residence - Chicago

Personality - Reserved and quiet, he appears to be thinking great thoughts when he doesn't speak, or maybe he's just shy. He can be a little sarcastic, especially when it comes to his lack of mobility when on the ground, but deep down, he's quite warm and compassionate. He seems to harbor something within him though that pains him every day. While he certainly acts proud, his exterior is just a shell for a wounded interior...

Strengths - As a rare breed and one of the few examples of his kind to have survived the war, Oskar is an exceptional pilot. Many of his comrades were killed in the war thanks to the extremely high speeds they flew at, as well as their need to pull of lightning fast maneuvers to avoid crashing or colliding. Not many survived, but Oskar was one of the few to pull through. Oskar puts many ace fliers to shame, as not only is he an excellent flier, but he can perform many high-speed maneuvers that would otherwise kill a normal plane. His precision is second to none, and it's said he can even "thread" the most difficult "needles" by zooming through very confined spaces when necessary and coming out unscathed on the other side. His handling is superb, and he knows how to use himself, so to speak, getting the most bang for his buck when he's airborne. He's also adept at gliding, but he needs to be due to his engine's nature.

Weaknesses - As he was one of the world's first rocket powered fighters (and the only kind to ever be functional), Oskar has extremely limited range. He can only fly 25 miles before his engine cuts out and he's forced to instead glide. While gliding is not a problem for him, he needs to make sure there's a convenient airport nearby or he'll crash. If he's flying on his own, he can only make short "hops" from airport to airport, and can't travel cross-country or long distances without needing to instead book a seat on a much larger plane. Because of the unique nature of his design, Oskar doesn't have any landing gear, and never revamped himself to receive any. Instead, when he lands he produces a skid, which will be sufficient to stop him on smooth surfaces. However, once he lands, he's immobile unless he's hooked up to a dolly or some form of tow from another vehicle. He can hop on his skid, but it provides very limited mobility. He also is scarred by his battle experiences, and deeply regrets having served Germany in the Second World War. He's had a hard time reconciling his pride as a German officer with the fact that his country not only lost the war, but committed heinous atrocities as well. He seems to wear his shame like a weight, as it daily crushes him and can make his will to continue flag.

History - From the distinguished von Scharnhorst family, Oskar quite naturally wanted to follow in his ancestor Gerhard's path, footsteps, and enlisted in the German military at a time when the German military was changing, and coming under the control of dangerous and interloping civilians. Not wanting to question the pride he felt at serving in one of the most noteworthy military forces on the European continent, Oskar was chosen for his design to fly high-risk, high-speed intercepting missions to shoot down attacking Allied bombers and occasionally fighters. Because of his speed and experimental nature, Oskar often only had three seconds if that to squeeze off shots before he zoomed over his much slower targets, easily outclassing anything the Allies had at the time in terms of speed. Oskar became an ace of the Second World War, though many of his comrades were killed due to the high-speeds they flew at and the dangerous nature of their models. Oskar's efforts were too little too late though, as the Allies were winning the war inexorably by the time he was finally deployed. Having to face the humiliation of defeat, he was shocked and horrified to learn of the atrocities his country had committed on civilians during the war. It shattered his faith in everything he believed, and broke him, sending him into a deep depression. But his few surviving comrades shared their stories with him, and convinced him not to give up. Instead, as part of a healing process, Oskar decided to move to America, and seek out veterans like himself to hear their stories, and also to share his own with them. Speaking about his experiences helped him, and gradually, little by little, he began to mend. However, not all veterans accept him, as some still consider him an enemy or evil. It's a constant reminder that he fought for a country that murdered millions and that he did nothing to stop. He tries to deal with this, and hopes to share his stories with a particular veteran he heard is living not terribly far from his new home of Chicago in a small town called Propwash Junction... but will this veteran accept him...?

Oskar hopped a little bit towards the group, but not moving very far. He did at least move slightly off the center line of the runway, to clear it for any incoming traffic. He gazed at the assembled group, wondering if any had noticed his landing... and if not... prepared to speak up just in case... but wait! Was that an old P-51? Was he... a vet too?

Finn McMissile - CHROME Headquarters

Finn smiled at Abby, and nodded here. "Yes, she is. And well you're going to have to handle it! No time like the present after all! This will be your first field test! Just think of it as a chance to apply everything you've learned! You've shown enough promise that I don't need to tell you what's at stake, as you should know by now, but don't worry! You're traveling with two of the best, and we'll have the Americans backing us up too just in case. You won't be alone on this one!" he pointed out to her.

"Right then! Let's head out! Do you both know where Siddeley's hanger is? If not, it's number six! Be there in approximately... thirty minutes! I'll meet you there! Don't bother with equipment, unless you have your personal preferences, because Sid will come fully stocked for this assignment!" Finn reassured the two of them, but mostly more for Abby's sake. He gave Shadow a look here that almost said "come with me" before he began driving out of the lecture hall, deciding to grab a quick can of oil before he headed for Sid's hanger.

At once Spray saw this new plane and his body tensed. He could see that he was of German origins and his ailerons bristled on instinct. His eyes narrowed dangerously and he felt his engine rev a bit.

His grandfather had fought in the Second World War, so he knew a German plane when he saw one. He also knew how people had not done anything about the real reason so many innocents had died. To Spray, it was the ultimate deception and the ultimate shame for him. And that was why he left his home in the first place.

As if he was telling why though.

The new plane seemed to be a bit... He didn't know how to describe it, but he brushed it aside. No Nazi plane was trustworthy in his eyes.

((And for good reason. They deceived their own people and at one point an American General ordered German civilians brought to a concentration camp and had them bury the dead. :)))

    {I'm just gonna say it... Oskar is kinda adorable already. Rush isn't gonna like him one bit though... not one bit at all}

Blaze - Female - Straight - Helicopter - Single - Propwash Junction, MN- Tags: Dusty, Foxtrot, Jigsaw, Oskar, Spray
Blaze glanced at the F-18 who had come up to her. Already she could tell he was up to no good, but allowed herself to be lax on him and not instantly go on the defensive. "Maybe that's because I just arrived today?" she said, almost with a snappish sounding voice. She shook him off like a pesky fly and decided to introduce herself, not only to him, but to the whole group. "My name's Blaze, by the way. It's nice to meet you." She had missed the bit about Dusty being who he was, or Spray's whole introduction. She had noticed, however, a strange looking plane land on the runway. It looked older, but she couldn't quite say what make or model the thing was. Curiosity tugged at her, but she forced herself to stay put. One thing was certain, however, and that was that Propwash was certainly an interesting town.

    Omega - Male - P-40 Warhawk - Straight - Single - Propwash Junction, MN - Tags: Tera
It took a moment for it to resister what Tera was saying, and another to understand that she was using army time. Although he knew and understood it, as well as had used it for many years, it had been a long time since most anyone had spoken the time in that method. He rolled forwards a bit, then back, feeling worn. When he had flown out to save Tera from what could have been her death, he'd picked up a nasty case of pneumonia, and even if it was several weeks since the event, he still hadn't recovered. Thank goodness, however, that his airways didn't feel horrible at the time. "You mean 8 o' clock," he corrected, "I'm glad you use army time, but not many planes over here understand it well enough that you should use it on a regular basis."

Streak - Male - Ice Dragon - Pansexual - Single - Propwash Junction, MN - Tags: Oskar
Up on his feet as quick and light as a cat, the dragon burst out of the hangar door, loudly flapping his wings to gain some lift as he ran towards the main town. He and his friend, Rush, lived on a small farmhouse below Propwash's towering cliffs, even if they did not own any fields. The most they owned farm wise was a single tractor and small garden, which had been enforced by Streak himself. As soon as he got to the base of the bluff, where one 'wing' lead up to the town, he took off the ground completely this time, and skedaddled towards the Fill N' Fly -the meeting place in Propwash. However, when he got up to the runway, he stopped, staring curiously at the bizarre plane that had landed there. He looked stuck. Landing lightly and folding his wings across his back, he stepped in front of the strange plane. "Do you need help, there?" he asked, not even considering for one moment about scaring the plane, as dragons a very, very rare sight to see if even that. As far as Streak knew, he was the only one, and it was by a long story he had gotten here. Thinking about it made a small scar across the back of his left leg throb a little, but he ignored it.

He chose, instead, to observe the new plane while awaiting his answer. The machine looked stout and disproportionate, with the smallest and most useless looking propeller at the tip of its stubby nose. It had flat, squat wings, and a single vertical stabilizer, but no horizontal stabilizers. The fact that the plane could even fly was amazing, but obviously he had just landed. Although he did have what appeared to be some fixture of landing gear, it was immobile for the most part -probably just there to allow a comfortable position. Even so, it looked awkward for the plane. Never did the dragon notice or realize that the plane was German, and even if he had, he would not have cared. Although he knew of Rush's bitter manner towards the people of that country, Streak hated judging a plane just by its country -just as many called him a monster just because he was a dragon.

    Rush - Male - F4U Corsair - Asexual - Single - Propwash Junction, MN - Tags: Nobody
Streak's "spontanuism", as the dragon liked to call his wild self, had never sat right with Rush. The Corsair had never liked it, but at the same time he knew he couldn't live without his pet being there. After the unfortunate events of Glendalcanal, he rather would have slipped away unknown and never remembered than be brought out into the world by the dragon he'd discovered -or, rather, by the dragon who had discovered him. It still puzzled the old Corsair over who and what Streak was. He was supposedly a dragon from another world -one where war was all they knew, and killing was a sport to dragonkind- but it seemed such a stretch to make, he could hardly wrap his mind around it. But each day passed and Streak hardly ever breathed a word of his home. But now, of course, his home was here. Streak had made it very clear that even if he could go back to where his kind came from, he most certainly wouldn't.

Going after Streak now was not at his top priority, as it involved being in town, where he would rather not be. Even so, he also knew he'd get a scolding and nagging from the ice dragon if he didn't. In a way, Streak was like a nurse, but in another way, he wasn't at all. The dragon never did tell him he had to do anything, per say, but rather suggested it. If Rush didn't do as he was suggested, he was nagged about it, but almost never outright scolded. It was a strange relationship the two had acquired; a very strange one indeed. Rush decided to spare himself from the dragon's peskiness and go into town. He needed to fill his tank again, anyway.

Jigsaw had become curious as well. He did not remember much about World War Two, mainly because he was too young at the time to fully understand what was going on, so he didn't see why some of the older planes suddenly became hostile. It was obvious that the odd plane didn't have landing gear. I need to socialize anyway, the P-51 wasn't exactly very social, but he was willing to try. He did seem slightly iffy about Streak though, the dragon was a ball of mischievousness. Jigsaw slowly taxied over to the bizarre plane, making sure he didn't accidentally hit anyone with his wings. "You seem like you need help," he stated in a low, gruff voice.

((Heheh, well that's partly why I made him! :D I want some good tension between him and others! XD I was like what if I made a character who WOULDN'T be accepted by some of the OCs we have in this RP, but who still struggles with his past? I think this shall make for some good roleplay. :D))

Oskar von Scharnhorst - Propwash Junction

Oskar gasped a little at the strange... creature that suddenly appeared before him. Fear rose in his belly as he tried to move, but that was easier said than done with him. He only managed to kind of twist himself slightly to the right, and it wasn't much. But when the creature spoke, and even asked if he needed help, Oskar wasn't sure what to think. "I-I..." was all he could stammer at first, his eyes wide with apprehension. But when the creature made no move to tear him apart or rip into him in any way, he started to relax slightly. No one else seemed to be driving off in fear of this thing so... perhaps it was natural here? The P-51 was approaching them now too, and that made the Komet feel even more at ease. "Yes." he said at last, starting to smile in an abashed manner, feeling foolish for not being able to move as he finally fully relaxed. "I'm afraid I can't move after I land!" he stated, hopping in place once to indicate his point.

"I feel so embarrassed!" he spoke in a clipped German accent, though his English was rather good. "If you have a dolly in town or a tow line that would help! Or!" he said, looking between the two of them here, but settling on Streak, as he seemed capable of... moving in such a fashion that vehicles couldn't hope to imitate. A light came to his eyes as he got an idea. "Perhaps one or both of you could simply push me over to that station I see over there! That would be of immense help, and I would be very grateful!" he said sincerely. "I feel so useless at times like this!" he declared, looking down to the ground forlornly before raising his eyes to look at Jigsaw. "Say! I don't mean to intrude but... are you... are you a veteran of the Second World War?" he inquired hopefully.

Although Oskar was painted in his war camouflage, he did not sport the German Iron Cross anymore, having removed that at the war's conclusion, so aside from his accent, there were no markings on his body to indicate his nationality. "And... I hate to ask this but... what... are you?" he asked of Streak, looking over at him as well. He'd been around a long time, but never in his years of seeing some of the most bizarre and strange sights on this planet had he ever run across anything remotely like Streak.

Dusty Crophopper - Propwash Junction

"Hey! It's nice to meet you, Blaze!" Dusty offered her a friendly smile here. He was under the impression she'd heard his name when he'd been talking to Spray, so didn't offer his name a second time. "Welcome to our quiet little town... that will soon become rather... active I'd say, thanks to the air show today! While we don't have a lot of room at our motel, we do at least have inflata-hangers and other accommodations should you choose to extend your stay beyond today!" Dusty figured he may as well help out Brody and Barbara by sending business their way during this thing.

But some noise over by the runway caused the plane to swivel and then outright turn as his gaze was wrenched to the strange looking vehicle that had touched down not too long ago. "Whoa!" he exclaimed, smiling widely and blinking rapidly. "What is that?" he asked, never having seen anything quite like it in his life.

"Vietnam, I was too young to know what was going on during World War Two," he said, gently correcting Oskar. "I can help move you, though it would be easier if you had landing gear," the P-51 said with a slight frown, but he did not seem bothered by helping out the bizarre plane. Jigsaw didn't see any reason not to help Oskar, and wouldn't be surprised if nobody moved to help the plane, considering their response to his appearance in general.
