"My my, that's a little harsh now, isn't it?" Za'ji asked. "After all, you still have no proof of your accusations. For all you know, you could have just condemned the innocent wife of a simple hunter. Not the best move, diplomatically." Inside, she was sniggering uncontrollably, but she kept the same bored expression on her face throughout. She was still wearing her armor underneath her dress, but the Argonian's modesty prevented him from discovering it. Sure, he could tear off her dress and all would be revealed, but he wouldn't. At least she figured he wouldn't.

Phydra quickly ran after him. "Is there Any smell of blood?"

"Hardly." Auguseethus grunted. He didn't know why he hated the Dark Brotherhood so much, they hadn't really ever hurt him personally, he just did. Oh well.

Zachariah blinked, pausing for a moment to smell. He hadn't even thought of that before; of course he would be able to smell blood. He could smell blood from many miles away, and he could hear a creature's pulse from just about the same distance as well. "Yes. I do," he answered. "I can smell that male Khajiit, obviously, but I can also smell two other scents several yards ahead of him. I'm assuming it's Za'ji and the Argonian," he nodded, breaking into a steady jog in order to catch up with Za'zah.
He wasn't going as fast as he would normally be able to, however, because the sun was far too bright for him. It felt like it was weighing him down. Sighing, he quickly added, "Although if you're asking whether I can smell any of their blood outside of their body, no, unfortunately. I would love it if Za'ji shed some of that Divines' forbidden Argonian blood," he responded, smirking.

" So tell me, agent," Za'ji said, hoping to find some chinks in her captor's armor, "What made a fine, upstanding argonian like yourself join up with the likes of the Penitus Oculatus?"

Katarina didn't speak. She walked with her head low. She was in her own world right now.

Za'zah stopped to check the tracks. After that he started walking again. The hunter heard footsteps behind him but thought nothing of it.

Auguseethus thought a moment or two before speaking. He didn't see any harm in telling Za'ji so he did.
"I grew up in Cyrodiil, my mother was an Argonian but my father was an Imperial, so obviously they couldn't have any children." He explained. "I was adopted as a hatchling, then my brother, then my sister. My father was a Penitus Oculatus agent, so was my grand father and great grand father, and I guess since I was the eldest he wanted me to become a Penitus Oculatus agent, too. I was sucked in at an early age, too, so I didn't have much of a choice." August paused.
"I thought I would be protecting the Emperor, though." He admitted. "Not hunting assassins."

"Yes, an awful shame that," Za'ji said. "Dagger in the back, was it? Terrible business. Of course, the Brotherhood got as good as they gave, if the stories are true, but of course, I wouldn't know anything about that, now would I?" In this, Za'ji was telling the truth. She barely knew anything about the details of the emperor's assassination, she was still living with her father at the time. Still, she might be able to use his family legacy against him. "So, the only reason you joined was because the rest of your family had joined before you? You didn't ever stop to think about what you wanted?"

"Not really, actually." Auguseethus stated blandly. "I can't really picture my like any differently, so I don't really want a different life. Except maybe one where I'm married and my son has a real mother...."
