I didn't really realize that my new horse also looked like a deer in the headlights until I recently drew him and realized he had blue eyes.

Blue eyes are intense.

^^ Thank you from a few pages ago! :3 And oh yeah, blue horse eyes are always pretty crazy looking XD

I love the cross country pic, Bay c: Which gave me an idea; do you think we could do something like a group lesson that worked as a collaboration piece? Like, someone, most likely the instructor running the lesson, would draw the background (and/or have some others help out with it), and then the members of the lesson would all draw their riders and horses participating. So, it could all be in the same picture (all the members and the instructor), or it could be like how the old BES's really old shows used to be run (where Bay would draw a background and the participants would all draw their entry on the background in separate, edited versions of the original background, here's an example). And then, the final picture could count as a training image or something, but still not worth as many points as a drawing done fully by the user.

Hopefully some of that made sense? XD I'm super bad at spitting out ideas in a decent sentence or two, it takes me eight years to get my point across haha.

Aaaaand here's Pixie, yet again! I pulled out a reference for this one in a drawing horses book I rediscovered the other day. Whoo XD

Winds doing good with a 67

Since I have stopped drawing horses digitally I will have to scan some or my most recent drawing (which is from like months ago..) Just wondering if anyone had some tips on doing backgrounds with pencil crayon? I can never seem to make clear/simple backgrounds and it's starting to bother me

I like Fluffy's idea about the group lessons. It would be cool, and a fun way to draw.

@Bay, I don't think you stated it directly, but if you did I must have missed it. I'm glad to hear that you still count creativity though. Sorry if I confused you or anything, I was just curious about the new system. ^^

@Fluffy, I love the lessons idea, but since I can't draw digitally I probably won't be able to participate in it myself. Still, I think it would be a great idea for the rest of the borders. Who knows? Maybe I can find a way to get my horse in there after all. I could just make one of my traditional drawings transparent and Photoshop it in there. That could work. >u<

    @Stonefly, I draw all of my HARPG art traditionally, so I have a few tips to offer. For starters, always sketch out your background with pencil before actually coloring it. Make sure it's light pencil too; that way you can erase it if you're going for lineless art. If you're not going for lineless, however, then go over the pencil with a marker or pen to make the lines stand out before coloring. If you're having trouble sketching the actual background, try looking up references. There's no shame in referencing if you need it! You probably already knew that though, so I'll move on. For the actual coloring, always begin coloring lightly and in the same direction. Try not to scribble or get too hasty in the process. If you do that, then the coloring will look sloppy and unprofessional. I'd suggest starting with objects in the back of the background as well, such as the sky or fences. That's just my way of doing it though. Sorry if this wasn't what you were looking for, but I tried. ^^;

Anyway, since everyone else seems to be doing it, it's number generator time!

    Fiona: 40 - saf

Since Fiona's about two years old now, I think I'm going to start doing some "baby training" with her. Nothing too hard, just the simple stuff like teaching her how to stand properly when being haltered or groomed. I'm not going to start with actual saddle training until she's about three, and she probably won't try riding her until she's four. You can never be too careful with developing horses. c:

I was going to suggest Photoshop. :) Whether you inserted it in or someone else.
Kind of like how RPF and Ros did on the old thread/dA. xXx

Hey Bay? Does Bayside still have all those beloved pets? Like Rex the dog, Lucifer the barn cat, and uh... Wellington the barn bunny? lol I understand if they faded away. Since them and the cows kinda started some interesting themes of art. xD

Hi I am Baby bunnies! but you can call me BB
I love to do art. Before December 2014 all art that I did was with a mouse. I now work with a Bamboo tablet. Also please note that I expect something in return for customs, I put time into every piece.
I own rabbits! I love to show my rabbits and and have gotten many first place ribbons, a lot of Best of Breed, Best Opposite Breed, Best of Variety, & Best Opposite Variety awards. My rabbits have also gotten Reserve in Show and Best 6 class. I, personally, have gotten Reserve Champion and Grand Champion awards. I take part in Rabbit Royalty! If you have any questions about Rabbits then please ask and I shall answer as best that I can.

@fluffy: I was actually thinking about doing something like that! What kind of lesson do yall want?

@Bunnies: Rex the dog has passed on due to old age and natural causes but Lucifer is still around(I actually included him in a drawing today so it's funny you mentioned him!) I'm sure Wellington is still around, unless the coyotes or hawks got him  Bay does have new dogs tho! Sugar the rescue pit bull and Marshmallow the boarder collie, who is actually Bay's bf's dog haha

@whoadazzle: he looks super cute! I'm glad you found a design that you like :D I'll have to do some fan art of him c:
