I love a lot of the suggestions so far, but I honestly want to see a brindle. & inverse markings (ie. dappling). Breeds I'm dying to see are more Percheron's!! We need another stally! But I would love to see some Australian breeds (as an Australian myself). Australian stock horses, brumbies, Aussie riding ponies - whatever!! I'm also interested in seeing zorses & zebras :3

I know ponies aren't high on the requested list, but I'd really like to see these breeds:
Hackney Pony (Comes in Horse variety too)
New Forest Pony
Dartmoor / Exmoor Pony
Connemara Pony

Additionally, the Lithuanian Draught Horse is very pretty. Also, another Shire would be lovely, if possible?

Re: RVEC Suggestions Thread

Currently, there is one breed which I would really love to see more of. That breed would be the Tennessee Walker. Currently there are only four RVEC horses of this breed. There are only two foundation horses, a mare and a stallion. They have two offspring who, even upon reaching maturity, will be unable to produce a purebred due to the fact that they are related to entire RVEC Tennessee Walker population.

The fact that the gene pool of a certain breed of horse is limited is not an uncommon story. The Friesian, the Gelderlander and the Shire horse, just to name a few, face similar disadvantages. What makes the Tennessee Walker different, though? The answer is demand. At first sight this may not seem obvious; Warmbloods and Draft breeds are currently the most desired horses, according to this thread's poll. However, despite the small population of purebred horses, the Tennessee Walker horse attracts attention. The fact that they have their very own breed association, the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders Association, is testimony to this fact. Gaited horse breeds are also the third most desired horse type, according to the poll.

Therefore, could a few more Tennessee Walker horses be added to RVEC please?

Sure thing! Those guys are easy enough, so I'll have them up right away ^^ Keep an eye out for some rescues, as I'm very dedicated to rescuing sored horses and want to raise awareness -- but there'll be some competitions too c: One should be up within the next thirty minutes or so!

Another couple o' breed suggestions ^.^:

Another draught breed which I found today is the Suffolk Punch. They only come in chestnut, or 'chesnut' as the Suffolk Horse Society calls it, but I think they're really pretty.

My other suggestion might seem a little odd for me to suggest, but perhaps some more Lipizzaners? We only have the one, a stallion, after all.

I really think there should be more Percherons as we have a breed association and two breeders. I am currently dedicating myself to Percherons. It would be nice to have a few more stallions/mares. I think a mass rescue will help calm our issue for a while.

Aha, you read my mind, TheLoveOfHorses ^^ Be prepared! Not all will be Percherons, but many will c:

jetred, just realized I'd never replied -- sorry! I'd love to encorporate those breeds once our big ones have sufficient numbers to keep going <3

I think we need to add a couple flaxen horses to the ranks
Like Flaxen Liver Chestnut. I love the dark of the chestnut next to the flaxen mane. Its gorgeous

Also some rabicano and pangare would be amazing
