RainPaw decided she would tell StormStar, after all that's the least she could do. She padded out of the medicine cat den and sniffed around for him, "StormStar?" She called with a troubled look on her face.

Softfeather padded out of the medicine den and exited the camp. The she-cat was still had a meeting with Tallstep today and she needed to tell him the news of her expecting kits. Maybe everything would work itself out. Or maybe it wouldn't, but she knew Tallstep wouldn't give up on her. The she-cat padded heavily to the border where they met the day before and laid down in weight. Her sides were already beginning to stick out a tiny bit but it wasn't really visible.

Stormkit began to wail pitifully when the commotion came into the nursery. When his mother left he was sleeping peacefully, but now he was startled awake. He continued to wail in frustration, anger, and confusion at what was happening and began to wriggle towards the side of the nest.

TallStep finnished his rabbit and looked to the sky, he got to his paws and padded out of camp, making it look like he was going on patrol. He trotted through the forest till he reached the border line and SoftFeather entered his line of vision. "Tired?" He smiled as he skidded to a halt in front of her.

Hazelfur leaned down to touch his nose to Whitekit's fur gently, then sighed, closing his eyes. Whiteleaf, please watch over her... He called out to his mentor in his head before opening his eyes again to give Stormkit a comforting lick. "Hush now, little guy. It's alright..." The medicine cat frowned, glancing over his shoulder at Foxcloud and her brothers.

Silently, Foxcloud let Whitekits lifeless body slip from her paws. She crawled into the nest with her other kits, pulling them close. "It will all be okay, little ones..."

Softfeather nodded. "More like its the kits," she said to him. The she-cat then followed up with, "We're having kits. Suncloud told me this morning." She flicked her tail back and forth patiently as she waited to see his reaction.

Hailkit immediately snuggled up to his mother and quieted down. Instead of sleeping he began to suckle hungrily again before a burp escaped him.

TallSteps chest tightened and everything felt like it stopped. Kits? He took a step back, his eyes painted with shock. He thought back to FoxCloud and how she had kits and the one that just passed away.. He stood, motionless. What could he say?

Softfeather looked at him with worried eyes that changed to sadness. "I knew it was too soon," she said. "You don't want kits do you?" She said to him in a barely there whisper. The she-cat grunted and began to push herself to her paws.

"I do it's just.." TallStep finally spoke, cutting out of his inner emotion. "I'm worried is all." He frowned, concern displaying in his eyes. He was worried about the clans, SoftFeather, and the kits. He stepped closer to her, hoping she would understand.
