Sharpclaw stood at the edge of a branch. "C'mon!" His brother chirped. "Are you serious?" Sharpclaw said. "I can't fly!" Sharpclaw's brother smiled. "Well, I'll teach you." Then he lifted his wings. "Just ride the wind. " he explained. Sharpclaw sighed. "Okay. Okay.. let's do this. " Then, he jumped. He flapped his wings frantically. "Smoother! Make bigger strokes!" His brother said from below. He did. As he flew, he saw his nest. "Wow! He called."Im flying!" His wings glided on the wind, soaring high.

Sindano's anxious and worried gaze scanned the area, his heart pounding with fear. His mother had left several hours ago, and yet she still had not returned; Sindano was very worried, as she usually returned within an hour. The soft coo of an owl wafted down from above, making Sindano's head jerk up. The familiar feathers of his mother were just barely discernible in the dull grey of dawn. "Mom!" the owl cried, his eyes shining with sheer and utter joy. His mom landed near him, wrapping him in her feathery embrace. "I thought you left for ever, mom." he said softly, nestling close to her feathers.
"My son, I would never intentionally leave you. Ever."
