－1800's Vampire & Detective RP－

❝ℒondon 1848. A time when industry is just beginning to make its mark and where titles and great wealth offer the most influential power. However, despite this, a new threat has begun to settle among the London alleyways and upon each frightened citizen's lips. A murderer is on the loose and one that seems to constantly baffle and elude the British police and investigators. What is worse, though, are the murmurs of what became of the victims. Young men and woman, who are strong and healthy in every way, have been completely drained of their blood or simply disappear without a trace. Only their pale, hollow husks are sometimes left behind while their frightened gazes look past at a long unseen foe. Some can only speculate what may have happened, while others whisper old tales of monsters that walk among us once more.

It has been nearly half a year with no end in sight to these cases, only more and more people seem to go missing as the nobles cry for resolution for fear of them being next. Peasants and lower-class citizens have all but fled when night falls, and the streets are eerily quiet and void of life these days. Only the subtle stirrings of a few dedicated detectives work throughout the night, but how long before they too go missing once they stumble upon the truth of these unnatural murders? Few are left these days that dare to brave what haunts and stalk the streets without rest, and even fewer still are willing to accept what really hunts the masses and lives among them..."❞

Yay! You finally put up the discussion thread! I accidentally stumbled across your post when you were still working on the first one, and it sounds really interesting, and like a lot of fun. So I'd like to join it, please. =)

I'd like to reserve a male vampire slot, and a female human slot. I'll try and get to work on the forms, but I've never done anything quite so written-out and detailed before. And I don't actually know much about London, so I'm gonna have to study up on that, too.

Also, if you'd like to add my vampire in to Catherine's story when I fill everything out, you're welcome to. Or if somebody else comes along before-hand and has everything finished first, you're welcome to go with them, instead. =)

I shall go ahead and reserve those slots for you, but please keep in mind that this RP requires quite a bit of writing. If you ever feel that it is too much do let me know since I do not wish for this RP to place any undo pressure on anyone. However, I'd love to see what you can do and the characters that you will create for this plot! Don't worry too much on London, though. Just getting a feel for the place and how things were in the 1800's should be all the research you need.

Also, I'd love to add your male vampire character to Catherine's storyline and history! Once I view his form and what you've written for him I'll see if he will fit well in her timeline or contrast her character development nicely. Overall I can't wait to see what you develop for your own characters with the provided theme. Let me know if you need any help with doing so or have any further questions~

Yeah. I joined up knowing it would require quite a bit of writing. I'm hoping I can live up to the standards. I've always wanted to get into an RP where it's more of a requirement to write more, as well as one that's more involved. I tend to feel like most of the RPs I try and get into are lacking significantly. People skimp on replies, and tend to not really have solid stories. So I feel like, whether I do a lot of writing or not, it's kinda worthless. And I'd really like to be a part of something where I feel like I can and should type more and expand on everything like I want to. =)
I can tell it's not super big on the whole "You have to be a London expert" thing. But I've never really studied a lot of culture. And I want these character application things to have more of a realistic feeling to them rather then leaving everything as basic as I can get away with.

I'm kinda re-using two characters that I've been meaning to do more with for a while. They fit well enough into the theme. So here's the basic things I have for them so far. I still obviously need to do a lot more work.

Name: Mirabelle (It's a temporary name. For some reason, I can't quite fit a name to her. Also, should her last name be Rose?)
Gender/Sex: Female
Species: Human
Age: 20
Profession/Occupation: Self-proclaimed detective with no associations.
Appearance: Mirabelle is a bit on the short side, being just under five and a half feet, and is average as far as width goes. Her hair reaches near her midback, and she has a habit of tying it up. She often wears clothes described as "cutesy", which consists primarily of a short skirt with some sort of shirt. She also carries a bag of some sort with her always, which has an assortment of stuff in it. She likes to dress up in a variety of outfits, however, in order to avoid getting recognized. After all, people are less likely to pay attention to eavesdropping nobodies.
Personality: Mirabelle is persistent, and will stop at nothing to get what she wants. She's very good at using her words to get information out of people, whether they realize they're giving it away or not. She'll happily flirt and seem stupid if it gets her what she wants out of people. She's very curious about the world, and always asks questions, while rarely liking to give much away about herself.
Despite her lack of trust in people, she crushes fairly easily, although on guys more than girls, despite being bi. However, she refuses to let something like a crush get in her way. Mirabelle sees crushes as nothing but giving people the power to crush you, hence the name. It takes a lot to gain her full trust, but once she decides there's someone she can't let go of, she'll do anything in her power to keep them safe.
History/Extra: While born in London, she's always liked to travel. Her mom insisted she didn't, but her dad also loved to wander. So together, they did a lot of traveling and learning about the world. They rarely spent long at home.That is, up until her mom fell ill a few years ago. It wasn't particularly nasty at first, but her mom seemed different. Even after she recovered, she still didn't seem quite all there. They thought perhaps she had some sort of mental illness, and despite her and her dad's love of travel, they both grudgingly agreed to stay home and watch over her. But this didn't stop their natural curiosity. There was still a wide world laid out before them. Even if they didn't have the whole thing at their fingertips, there was more than enough exploring to be done right here.

Name: Rhys (I'm not certain about his last name yet.)
Gender/Sex: Male
Species: Vampire
Age: 25
Profession/Occupation: ??? (He doesn't really have much of a job. He just does his hobbies, some work around the house, and a lot of social interactions.)
Appearance: He has messy black hair that dips a bit below his ears. His eyes are a pale blue, looking near purple. He typically likes to wear a plain shirt, white or black, and black pants.
Personality: Rhys is kind and caring, sometimes to a fault. While he knows how to be strict, he doesn't like to be. He also has a knack for being flirty, despite not falling for people easily. He's also very social.
History/Extra: Rhys has thus far lived a rather sheltered life as a result of what he is. Most of his interactions were with staff. As soon as he was old enough, however, he volunteered himself for a lot of social gatherings of any type. He didn't really have any proper friends, but he enjoyed talking to everyone. He met someone named Daniel Rose at a party, and the two clicked. They quickly became friends, and it wasn't long before Rhys' new friend had come to work their. Of course, as it is with life, it didn't stay happy for long. Daniel became the victim of a murder, or so it seemed. The case was suspicious, to say the least. It wasn't really his territory, but Rhys was determined to find his friend's killer and take care of them.


Despite having used them a bit before, they're still not really thoroughly worked out just yet. If you have any ideas or suggestions to make them better, you're more than free to. =)
(And no worries. I won't hate you if you outright insult my characters or something for whatever reason.)

{ Your human character's last name does not have to be Rose if you don't want it to be. The Roses were simply part of an old Order of hunters rather than strictly related to one another, but you are more than welcome to have her last name as that as well since it could tie in with the plot more openly-- but certainly not required.

I'd say both your characters are coming along nicely. There certainly does need to be a lot more info still added for them both, but I can tell each of their personalities so far and it's a good foundation that you're starting with. It may help to work off of other characters as well if you need some more depth to their profiles. If you're interested, Rhys is welcome to be one of my male vampire's siblings if you'd like to work off of what I have written so far for him? That, or he can be a close family friend if you prefer. I have Aden's history that I've gotten down so far at least, but it still needs to be a bit more fleshed out and I'm open to adding some of Rhys info in there as well to round it out a bit more. (Would also give him a last name you can use, too. ^^)

Also, I really like the connection you included for Catherine's brother, Daniel. The two knowing each other prior sounds great and it would allow for Catherine to seek out Rhys or the Greyfells in general. Or for her to simply seek out Rhys alone since the man was close to Daniel as well-- all the more suspicious. c:

To put it simply, Rowena Greyfell is the crown jewel in her family. The eldest daughter [and only if comes to pass], her beauty is known far and wide by both vampire and human suitors alike. She is a strong, powerful and dominating figure in a room, much unlike other women and she uses this to her fullest advantage. Rowena is a young woman who gets what she wants. She is a very prominent figure in the London community and is often seen at very important events, accompanying her brother on occasion.

Rowena and her brother grew up close, being only two years apart. She was never like other young women at the time. In the medieval world she was born into she was a rebel, out riding and directly disobeying her father’s orders to be more like a lady. She craved her independence and freedom from the traditional laws that bound her to her family and to the engagement of a horrid man whom was to be her husband after he payed for her properly. To Rowena, the curse bestowed upon her family is both a blessing and an endless nightmare. That night is firmly ingrained into her mind as the night her world and her fortunes changed.
There was something about the Elder One . Something strangely but dangerously alluring. It was like an animal that know it’s been hunted, that feeling of wanting to flee but not knowing if it is just imagination. It’s that feeling that drew Rowena to him. A feeling that has now cursed her and her family in their immortal shells for all time. Suffice to say, the weak bond that Rowena had with her father shattered entirely that night. And as for her first feeding, well, there is no way that she talks about it, but her betrothed ended up dead, his body drained and a stricken look of horror on his face.

Ever since, Rowena has hated her father, drawing further and further away from him. They often collide in angry confrontations about her marriage to a vampire of higher standing and rank. Rowena is having none of that. She chooses whom she gets close to and has no interest in marrying a member of the older families that turned her. She has adjusted very well into London’s high society and is known far and wide as the ‘Black Nightingale’. This name she has rightfully earned for her beautiful singing voice and her abilities in music. She has performed at most high society galas and events, and has since helped booster the family name by her appearances in high society. The young woman is known to drawn men to her, and as such she doesn’t have very many friends in the female community. In fact she doesn’t have many friends at all.

Rowena has a darker side though, one which her family rarely sees. She, like most vampires prowls the streets of London at night, looking not for her prey, but for lesser vampires in the city and the criminal movement of London’s darker side. She is a manipulative and cruel woman when she wants to be, and thanks to her work at night she has criminal and vampire connections all over England and beyond. The problem is that some of them are going missing and she, though not the most friendly of people, does not take lightly to a vampire coming in and messing up all the hard work she has put into her network of night crawlers. This is one side of her that not even her brother has seen, nor is it a side that she is willing to show him. After all, as a 'lady' she should not have such connections or dealings with criminals.

She has a lovely personality that coincides with Aden's perfectly and her history involving what happened to them when they were turned seems to have shaped her into someone who is sure to be fun to RP with, I'm looking forward to it. ^^

The only issues I see is the misspell of the family name. It is meant to be Greyfell instead of Greyfall. I kept doing that myself sometimes when I was writing my own vampire's application, so easy fix. I'll be sure to add her information to the front page as well as in some key points within Aden's history. I look forward to seeing your human form next~
