Za'zah stood there watching her go. He smiled a bit as he felt his heartbreaking slowly. He knew Za'ji didn't mean a word she said to him, she didn't love him, but that didn't change his feelings for her at all. It just ment he'd have to work harder to earn her love.

"..... I heard you confess your feelings to Gale. I heard you two tell each that you loved each other. Although Gale says it didn't go that way, that you love me not him." Katarina said looking at the floor.

Gwyneth smirked. "Nothing," she said, waving the Bosmer off. "If you need anh help with that one ... er, Gam-Tei, please, just let me know! I'd be happy to help!" she said to the Argonian, a pleased look on her face as she saw that Za'ji was about to be carried off. She indeed disliked the Dark Brotherhood, and little did she know that the elf before her was one of them - else she would most likely be avoiding Phydra like the plague. Even then, maybe not ... the Wood Elf was rather good-looking, after all. Attractive elves were hard to come by in Skyrim, unless they were apart of the Thalmor, whom she hated with a great passion.
A soft sigh escaped her lips and she turned back to Phydra.
"Well, that was something," she commented rather dully about what was going on in the inn. She noticed that the male Khajiit whom Za'ji had been talking to earlier was simply standing there, like a lovestruck puppy, and she called out to him, in a teasing manner, "What's the matter? Khajiit got your tongue?"

Zachariah stared at Katarina for a moment, then blinked slowly, shaking his head. "What? What are you talking about? It didn't go that way at all! You've got it all wrong," he said, then explained himself further. "See, he ... he likes me, but I ... You're my .. um, yeah," he stated, clearing his throat in an awkward manner. He hesitantly shot a look at Gale, who was right there in the room with them, the perfect example of a third wheel. He didn't want to hurt the man's feelings any farther by saying he loved Katarina, yet not him, right where he could hear them, clear as day. Making him feel bad was inevitable with the situation they were placed in, but he wouldn't do it intentionally if he could do something about it beforehand.

Za'zah hissed at the elf that spook to him. He went upstairs to his room and grabbed Za'ji's daggers. "No matter what.... I won't stop chasing you Za'ji." He said.

"Well it was pretty convincing to me." Katarina said. "Leaving me like that to be with him instead of me." The Listener stood up and took a few steps away from the vampire. "Sure that may not have been your intensions but that's how it looked to me and everyone else that saw us."

Phydra glanced at her sister as she left, preparing to get up and make her leave. "Don't tease the poor thing, Gwyneth." The name slipped smoothly off of her tongue, and only now did she notice how neat it was. "The poor man's wife was dragged off to prison, after all." Her words, although could be said in an insulting way, flowed gently past her lips as to inquire something more friendly, or perhaps more friendly then she ment it to be. Might as well chat for a moment before she went off to save the day, something assassins weren't use to. She was rather skilled in the art of... Well... Not being suspicious.

Gale coughed. Well, no more dancing around the subject then. The words stung. Smiling sadly, he looked at the ground and nodded, blushing fervently. He supposed she deserved to know, but he doubted that this would make her like him anymore. He might as well be expecting a couple shivs in the back from her assassin friends soon enough for this revelation. "Well....well, I...yeah. Uh...I should, u-uh, leave you two lovebirds alone. I'll ask around to see if we have any proper bandages. Glad you woke up; try and stay that way. You have a concussion, no doubt." It was about as awkward as he'd feared, but he didn't blame Zachariah. Standing, he looked apologetically at them both and made to leave, praying that his words would be forgotten and they could go back to what they had, even if it would still hurt. He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly on his way out, emotionally numb.

Synette Greensmith poked her arm though a crack in the roots of a
small oak, then withdrawing a bag of currency. The pot she had been
using for the past couple of years had a hole worn into it. She mutte-
red her frustrations to the air. She had been looking forward to some
soup that evening and now the rest of the day would likely be wasted
on a trip to the nearest town. It was a hassle she rarely looked forw-
ard to these uncomfortable trips as they meant having to leave her
forest home. She shuddered as she tried to remember just which of
the towns it was that she would be headed to. She knew it was one of
the towns located in the pine forest, but whether it was Falreath,
Riverwood, or Helgen she just couldn't remember. She placed a bit of
bark over the opening in the tree and secured it with mud so that no
wandering vagabond or woodland creature managed to knock it down.
She stood back and once she deemed the hiding place for her stash of
money acceptable, she began on her journey to a town for a new pan.

Zachariah watched Gale's back as he retreated from the room, feeling rather guilty, even more so from the fact that he had lead Katarina on like that, into believing that he had feelings for Gale, albeit unintentionally. He bit his lip, running through all sorts of comebacks in his disoriented head that he could say to Katarina. Most of them didn't make sense, though finally he managed to settle on one.
"I'm allowed to have friends, aren't I, O' Great Listener? I wasn't going to leave him to brood. What kind of person would I be if I did that?" he shot back. Of course, it wasn't like he was a good person by any means - he was a thief as well as an assassin, and he killed innocents for no reason other than to tame his hunger for blood. However, he liked to consider himself a wonderful friend if you managed to gain his trust.
He took a deep breath, and then more softly, he added, "I said I was going to come back. All I needed to do was make sure he was okay, and I did just that," he pointed out.

Gwyneth let out a snort of laughter, ordering another mead from the bartender as she finished her first bottle. "Oh, please," she muttered into her bottle of mead, throwing her head back as she took a large drink, before saying, "I don't know how you could believe a word of what those two cats were saying to eachother. I thought you to be more intelligent than that," she frowned. Perhaps she was wrong, or perhaps the Wood Elf knew more about what was going on than she thought she did.

"And you never did!" Katarina pulled her dagger on him. "And I'd watch how you speak to me vampire." She growled. "The fact stands you toyed with my feelings and I'm not the only one that thinks that, a fellow sister saw it all and she agrees with me." Katarina yelled, her eyes started to tear up.

Zachariah's hands sparked in the beginnings of a Vampriric Drain spell. He didn't have his daggers on him at the moment, but luckily for him, he was far more skilled in the arcane arts than he was with weapons, anyway. Not to mention that they were in the Ratway - if Katarina dare hurt him, the other Guildmembers would be upon her in an instant. Not even a master assassin such as herself could take on all of them alone. "Did it ever occur to you that the reason I didn't come back was because I passed out?" he asked darkly, voice deadly calm. There wasn't even a trace of remorse evident in his tone.
