The Daemian Union (TDU) V2 (POSTING OPEN!)

Eight years and I've been "totes settled forever" like four times. Which isn't totally unusual because I was growing up. I hit multiple life stages that bring on a lot of change and altered facets of my personality. I'm now an adult living on my own so my personality has been fine-tuned a bit. If you asked me eight years ago if I would be an antelope soul, I'd go "psh, no, I'm an obscure mythological/extinct species I like, it feels right."

Now that I've grown up I've stopped looking at what "feels right" and just look at the facts. Like typings, I'm verythe firmly social introvert as an ISFJ so if it starts with an E, it's out. That's what's led me to more fitting forms, right now been flip-flopping between Reedbuck and Dik-Dik, mostly as the latter.

So I guess my advice is cast aside feelings. I'd just start writing an RA and compare and contrast.

I guess I should have been more specific. I went with the snow leopard out of all the animals I looked at because the personality traits and facts were the closest to myself. It also felt more right then the other animals I looked at that had similar traits to myself. I don't think this is his settled form, but for now it will work until I find the form that does.

But hey, I just started my daemon journey a couple days ago so I still have a lot to learn! XD

Don't worry, you'll get it figured out soon. I was almost obsessed with finding my form for the first week or so, but that took a back burner compared to the companionship aspect of daemonism. I'm just getting back into form finding. Snakes seem to fit well, but that's all I have so far. Being felinekin, the first ones I looked at were cats, which fit well except for the self-assured, confident thing.

Tbh I have never actually said "I am stable as ____" ever. Considering Sy stuck as a gray fox for... three years? I think that's kind of a funny thing. Of course, I never really felt like I was firm in this or that personality. I'm only now reaching settling age, after all, so I was probably being conscientious of that. It occurs to me that I've never really gotten that feeling of certainty despite being the sort of person to trust my gut feelings.

Feel like I might like to go back through form finding again. Yeah, a couple days ago I did find that the coyote is a wonderful fit, but I feel like I'm overlooking something major if I'm not feeling that emotional connection. Hm.
Also, Sy's been really quiet today. He's been projecting just fine, but not talking at all. Normally he's really chatty. I can't tell if something's off or what. Maybe he'll pitch in if I look at forms again? Aahaha

@Hogosha - Oh wow, that's so cool! *high paws* That is awesome, haha! I'm glad you've found your own form, I actually looked into Pikas too but they didn't fit... if I remember correctly, they were too extroverted for me. But I can relate, a lot of the problems you mentioned are happening to me. Speaking of which...

@Aisling - Snow Leopard fairly well, except for the self-assured, confidence thing. That doesn't sound too much like me at all. Well, some aspects it does... but others it doesn't, if that makes sense? They are just a bit too self assured, it seems.

@Sibilant - Oh wow, really? It seems so hard to find a good form. Again, every animal I have found is either great in one area and doesn't fit in the next, is perfect except for maybe one trait, has a lot of traits like myself but just... too much so, or it doesn't fit at all. Nothing has been perfect, yet. It was kinda funny, being dragonkin I looked at an analysis of a western dragon and it didn't fit at all. I guess I will just try to stop obsessing, and really focus on getting to know Ki for now. Snow leopard works for the time being, and although I don't think it's perfect it works for now.

But that sounds cool, haha. Ki is great, but I really need to focus on talking and projecting him now... it's kinda weird, it's like he's here with me but in fragments... it's hard for me to concentrate. Any tips for this? Maybe meditation? I'm not sure. I do appreciate the help, though! ^^

Meditation always helped me! If not that, then just plain old practice; the more you project and talk to him, the more natural it gets. I've been talking to Sy for five years, and I remember that it started off feeling awkward but just sort of became a habit.

Oh OK! Yeah, that's how it feels right now. I may try to meditate or something tonight if I get the time, but otherwise I will just do that. Five years though? Wow, that's awesome! Thanks! c:

For projection, I've been projecting Sinclere(we've decided on that name~) walking beside me whenever I'm walking, sitting next to me when I'm sitting(and sitting on my lap when I'm in the car), and right before I fall asleep she's curled up ontop of me in bed. I've been trying to talk to her more, and her voice and style of speech seems to be getting more pronounced, if that makes any sense.

She's definitely stable as a snow leopard now, it feels comfortable and all of the points on all of the different analysis I've read for them fit me really well! I had a bit of trouble accepting the fact that she was a snow leopard at first, as they seem to be a pretty common form for dæmons(something as an INTP I am not happy about), and I wanted her to be a different species(banded Linsang, salamander, Mudi, caracal, and maned wolf, are some of my favorite animals that I hoped she's be). But once I saw how well the form fit, it was clear that she's a snow leopard. There's still the possibility that her form can change in the future, but for now, we won't be doing any form searching.

Does anyone else get the slightest bit upset when they see someone with a dæmon the same form as your own? Is this just me and I'm being way too self centered, or does anyone else feel like this? I don't dislike the person or their dæmon at all, it just makes me feel a little bit less special. ^^'

One more thing! I really think that something fun for all of us here on the CS TDU, should do a daily writing prompt diary, like they do on TDF! We'd write about what our daily lives would be like if suddenly everyone in the world had a dæmon and nobody knew where they came from. Would you all be interested in that? c: I'll still do it, even just for myself, and make a thread to post my daily writings, with a link here. ^^ I'd be happy to host it too, if anyone else is interested!

There are a lot of snow leopard daemons from what I've seen - and I can relate. I was personally hoping Ki would be something small, like a rodent, that could ride on my shoulder or in my pocket... and an animal that I may have already really liked (not saying I don't like snow leopards, but still). I was also a tad disappointed because of how popular they are. But I have a feeling that this isn't his settled form, and one day we will find an animal better (because, as I mentioned earlier during our discussion, there are a few slight points that seem like they may be off). But the form does fit decently for now, and that's all that really matters (and I'm ISTJ! Which is kinda funny, it seems like more snow leopard daemons are INTP).

Yes, me too! Which I really hate, because it makes me feel all selfish and such... also hate that I feel almost ungrateful for his form. That isn't too cool at all...

That would be neat! What is TDF, though? Anyways, that sounds amazing! I would be interested. I'm rather busy with life at the moment, but I would still like doing that possibly! ^^
