Piper smiled sheepishly at Percy's comment before answering his question, " I think it's pretty short notice, it says this Saturday. Everyone's going to be in a mad rush. I usually just wait and see what happens, it's a lot easier than frantically searching for someone to go with." She laughed half-heartedly, stowing the piece of paper into her robes.

At that moment Percy started to panic. Saterday! Great... he thought then mentally cursed as the voices came back 'Just ask her. If she says no well there are plenty of other witches in the hut! Be the man! Not a whimp! one side argued 'Its common to fear rejection. It's also common to fear spiders. Do you fear spiders Percy? Is Piper a spider?' Percy pinched himself again and forced a smile for Piper "Yeah your right...Might have to find someone to go with" he said with a small laugh. No. Bad Percy. Wrong thing to say "I mean well what would you say if someone asked you?" he asked quickly trying to backtrack his last comment.

Jayden sighed softly and stood up after contemplating his thoughts about his classes. He decided to head towards the Quidditch field, perhaps even see some of the teams practicing. The Ravenclaw broke into a brisk pace, his steps fast but quiet. Until he reached the field, he was slightly disappointed to see that no teams were training [?]. Sighing once again, he climbed the stairs to the Ravenclaw seats and sat there.

"I'd probably say yes," She laughed, looking a bit skeptical, " Are you trying to tell me something Percy?" She grinned smugly, lifting an eyebrow. She folded her arms loosely and stopped walking, seeing he looked pretty disheveled now.

As Scarlet wrapped up her flying session, she spotted someone sitting in the stands. She skidded to a halt in the middle of the field, looking quite windswept. " How long have you been here?" She called out. She couldn't tell what house the student was from, as long as it wasn't one of the brutal Slytherin players she'd be okay.

Jayden glanced up as someone called out, which seemed to be directed at him, since he was basically the only one there. He studied the speaker before answering. She was a Gryffindor, from the looks of her clothes, and similar to his age.
"I'm Jayden. From Ravenclaw." He replied, raising his voice so he could be heard.

Percy blinked at this. Was he trying to tell her something? Well of course he was! Percy shifted his weight and gave a half hearted smile "Maybe I am, Pippy" he said also crossing his arms. He could feel himself getting more nervous by the second but he pushed the feelings down. 'Man up' he told himself then sucked in his breath. "Yeah. Yeah I'm trying to see if a pretty girl would be so kind as to allow me to escort her to the ball" he said his grin returning. He scanned her face for any sign of emotion "I want to know if you will go to the ball with me. Piper" he said finally, happy to get it off his chest. Now here was the fun part. Rejection or happy room party with friends.

Theo walked down the hall, his head bent as always. He disliked people pointing at him whispering like they always did. It was mostly because of his scar. He tried to hide it one time with make up. Ended up only getting teased more. He sighed and walked on, holding his books close to his side and his hand gripped around his wand. If things got to bad a few jinxes never seriously hurt anyone. Nimbus meowed at Theo's feet, desperate for the attention he so rightfully does not deserve. Theo shooed his cat away and kept walking. He wondered what he should do for the ball. Ah yes. An empty Slytherin common room would be great for practicing spells. Fat chance he was going.

" I'd love too Percival." She smiled, hopping back over to him. " You seem like a gentleman, and you've got nice looks not to mention," She winked playfully at him. She was glad she had found someone to go with, because secretly she knew she was going to go either way. Thoughts were now slowly coming into her head like, " What dress am I wearing? Am I going to be all dolled up or am I just picking out something more casual? What will people say? Should I do my hair?"

Scarlet walked over to where the Ravenclaw was sitting, relieved that it wasn't a Slytherin player, " I thought you might've been another Slytherin player trying to sabotage me or something," She laughed. She set her broomstick down gently, being careful with the new broom. " Do you play?" She asked curiously.
