"I once used to be the color of fire." She murmured into the dark. "The strike of an explosion of color when the sun crept behind the distant mountains." Her fiercely curved beak seemed to twist into the faintest of smiles. "I am your Dreamwalker, Sueno. I have come to guide you home."
The owl's silent wings guided her to the ground where she stopped in front of the lullaby pink dog who stared at her with openly frightened eyes. "...I've never gone this far before, Infletus." Swallowing back the compulsion of fear, she asked, "What do we do?"
A soft hue of ivory moonlight warmed the ground and lit up a small, curved path. The owl fluttered her feathers as she whispered, “A dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world.”
But the dog was far gone, scampering down the path, bewildered at this turn of events. She had been in a thousand different dreams and the doors had always stayed open, but this was wrong; bad. The owl flew above her with the maternal chuckle of a patient mother. "Don't fret, Sueno. I'll bring you back."
She stumbled on a jutted pebble and fell, rolling to her stomach with a gasping sob. "I'm scared!" She shouted, her eyes wild and wet.
And the owl land before her and crept forward, her ghostly form illuminated by the night's natural light, and touched her beak to the dog's forehead. When Sueno breathed, she closed her eyes and fell asleep. Noiselessly, Infletus turned and grabbed a feather in her beak, carefully wriggling it free; and she fashioned a necklace with it, slipping it over Sueno's head.
In a second, the figure of the young mutt disappeared. When she came to she was in the familiar meadow of her homeland and the dawn was beginning to streak fantastic colors over the horizon of the sky, and somehow she remembered something from last night that someone had spoke of these hues. Distressingly tired, she rose to her feet and glanced down at the flutter of something she wore around her throat; and smiled down at the sunset feather and thanked the gods for the guardian she had somehow earned.

I think music is about our internal life.
It's part of the way people touch each other.
That's very precious to me. And astronomy is,
in a sense, the very opposite thing. Instead of
looking inwards, you are looking out, to things
beyond our grasp.
