I'm a little late to the party here, but I won't spoil anything; however I will say these aren't exactly what they appear to be. c:

So are they just going to be random splodges of colour? As if my brain could come up with anything sensible... Especially at this time of day...

maybe something along the lines of the old royal litter?

Yes, that's what I was thinking they reminded me of.

But from Nadine's comments, it leads me to believe there is something I'm missing. Not exactly as they appear to be? They appear to just be swirls to me, but that comment is throwing me off.

Not exactly as they appear to be? Hmm, I'm probably totally wrong but maybe some sort of colorful tiger dog? I dunno. They have the stripes on the back, and the little flares around the eyes which tigers have. I don't know, I'm grasping at straws.
