I feel we should support horsy and artists willing to accept the payment, they deserve it do they not? Horsy isn't saying that breedings will take mandatory payment, only that purchasing them is a possible option for the future. It's extremely difficult to get breedings, and as good as it feels to wait for eternity and get one accepted, I don't want to have my last one accepted by the time I'm 40.

This is what I've been getting at suggesting the breeding payment options xD My timeline is very different from all the artists, so it's a little hard to get a breeding in
I presume we would still have the free breedings, it's just if you want to get a foal quickly because you can't wait etc, it may be a good option. I think it would be great fun! Get excited everyone!! <33

I don't know about this. I kind of like the idea of customs, but at the same time, I really dislike it. Of course, I'm thinking of ways that I would be able to get a custom, and the only way I'd be able to that is by doing commissions myself. Which I'm not opposed to, but if this is only open as an event, I'm terrified I won't get enough points in time. I also feel like it would make customs not so rare anymore. I also dislike the idea of it being an auction rather than a normal sale. I'm sure people here would really pay a lot for a custom.

I honestly would be neutral on this subject. I wouldnt want free breedings to be relplaced by paid because I'm not able to get many points, but 100pt normal breedings could make it a ton easier for me in my timezone, presuming breedings weren't open in "rounds" like artists do now.
I wouldnt be a fan of auctioned special equids; I'm still working towards getting a roan equid ( 3 years later.. ff ) and seeing people with money just buy them because they can would admittedly make me jealous and a little sad because I can't afford much.
Either way, it's ultimately your decision horsy.

I feel like auctions would lead to ill feelings towards those that are capable of outbidding others, so personally I'm not sure about my thoughts towards auctions. I wouldn't participate in any auctions myself so it would affect me.

I am not making all breedings paid.

Just opening up the possibility of maybe giving something back to the breeding artists. So if they did want to charge they keep what they earn.
Likewise, if I sold customs that money would go to the regular artists (exact amounts and percentages to be calculated later) to help them out.

Like I said this is just dipping my toes in the water as real money transactions are a whole other ball game.

The breeding idea was suggested by someone and its something I would like to consider.

This could be great for people that have DA, so that's nice I guess. But I don't have one, so I am one of many that will be at a bit of a disadvantage of sorts with all this...
Wasn't there something about not... Profiting from art for Equids? (Don't eat me! I don't know for sure.) that kind of bugs me with this... Because now there will be profit made. It's not by making art for course, but still... Money.

So here are a few possible options:

Option 1: The Donation Pool

- Start a donation pool on DA, you can donate USD via paypal or Points
- Every $5 or 500 points puts a custom into the raffle
- Only those who donate are in the raffle (might change?)
- Money split between all artists/staff
- Is a one-off event

Option 2: The Auction

- Auction a set number of each type of rare/special custom for USD/Points
- Every $5 raised puts a normal equid custom into a raffle where those who HAVEN'T bought a custom can win
- Money is split between all artists/staff
- Is a one off event

Option 3: The artist free-for-all

- Each artist can offer a set number of paid customs a year
- Breeding artists can request a set amount of money/points for a set number of breedings
- Each person keeps what they earn
- All year round

These are some rough ideas just to give people an idea of what's rattling round my head (Not much xD)

I can see some people aren't keen, I can understand that, but we won't stop offering free breedings/customs/equids. There will always be free ones, and there will be limits on everything paid to prevent it all being for those who have lots of money. So we won't abandon people and beyond their newly created custom/breeding nobody will receive special treatment. Buying an equid won't increase your chance of winning free ones.

With the revamp the no profit is being changed. The new rules will allow people to charge for art/sculptures and make a profit.

But I will sort that out when I take a closer look at the rules.

I think it would be cool to have almost like a build your own custom shop! Where different traits might cost a different amount. So you might have a base sale of 200 points for it being a custom, and then add in another 100 points for roan, and 50 points for some type of paint markings.

It's just an example, but it would be interesting. This way rare customs would cost more
