I'm not a fan of auctions either, but for special equids they don't sound so bad so there wouldn't be an over abundance of them. But, for normal customs maybe there could be a set prove and you can get one every month or so? So they aren't impossible for me and others to get xD

I also have a roan breeding set up, so I understand it's not like you're handed the slots with ease. I just thought it would help with showing the variation between regular breedings and then more special/hard to come by breedings.

I feel that if people have paid with USD or dA points for their special Equids, they would also be more reluctant to give out breeding slots etc.

If I auctioned double and single event/special custom equids for USD/Deviantart Points (Via deviantart not CS) what would your reaction be?
I don't particularry like that idea very much to be honest :-/ Many people (myself included) would be unable to purchase them, so would feel pretty sad and annoyed that others can get them so easily.

I don't mean breedings specifically relating to the special equids that will be purchased, I just mean overall in general. Being as roans are meant to be rare, and then half-skelly equids, etc.

I just thought that if you are looking to purchase a breeding that is meant to be for a rare equid, that you should sort of expect more to be asked? It isn't exactly even for a rare breeding to be the same cost as a regular breeding.

I agree with these two, I don't think it'd be very fair, and I'd really prefer if we didn't bring auctions into this community ^^

In my opinion, it kinda goes against the attitude of the WME community. Breedings are free, first gens are free (only costs your soul and your heart sometimes... x3), and customs are earned by trying hard and doing good in the community. I feel like opening payed special customs would frustrate the many people who can't afford them, and there'd be not sweet feeling that you earned it. I personally love equids because of that attitude but... It's your species :3

I kind of agree with you and with Shadowhunter in a way, if bought customs and breedings were a regular thing then they would take the fun out of it, but if they were only once a year then I think it would be okay. They would be extra special quids - like winning an eventquid or a custom normally, it would have the same special feeling about it.
Idk, I think the best way to go about it is still a custom/breeding auction + the raffle for certain $/point denominations. That way it's kind of an event in and of itself and everyone gets a chance to go in it :3

I agree with this. Maybe an annual thing that only happens for a few weeks a year would be good? Not only to keep the rare roans, dragon quids etc rare (which would be more effective in my opinion than bringing up the rprice of a normal breeding at that time) but also to raise the excitement and fun a little more.

I'm not sure how I feel about customs though. I'd love to get one, but I think we should all be given more opportunities to work hard and earn one rather than buy one xD

Honestly I don't get scared of change when it comes to this adoptable and community. We have been through so much, and what has really changed? We make it through things together just fine and, for the most part, everyone stays together. There were people that thought new lines would be the end of equids, but we are still right here, alive and well.

I feel we should support horsy and artists willing to accept the payment, they deserve it do they not? Horsy isn't saying that breedings will take mandatory payment, only that purchasing them is a possible option for the future. It's extremely difficult to get breedings, and as good as it feels to wait for eternity and get one accepted, I don't want to have my last one accepted by the time I'm 40.

Also, with customs, I feel it wouldn't hurt to 'spread the love' and make them an option so long as you're willing and able to pay for them. I would personally save up money in order to have my custom made that I've had in mind for quite some time. I literally feel like he should be in my little herd, and it just makes me wish that there was some possibility of a person such as myself to get a custom done. I'm not asking for 500, just the chance and possibility to have an option avaliable for the important things in my life where I may feel a custom to represent it is well due.

I don't think these options would lead to the atmosphere of the community being ruined, and that it would take the specialness away from them. I would still love them just as much.
