Are some kind of sabertooth tiger thing?

saber tooth cats would be cool but I doubt these cats are saber tooths because the stripes are atypical for these. Even though many people say "saber tooth tiger", they are actually no tigers and are rarely depicted with tiger stripes. (I honestly don't remember one single saber tooth depiction with tiger stripes...)

March comes in like a lion, so I'm hoping they'll be big cat themed.

these ponies will be primitive horse breeds. Przewalski's horses, etc. Maybe even just old horse breeds like the Spanish horses or the Caspian horses (Imagine a Caspian "PPS", like the pygmy goat was last month??)

I think in some very very old history stuff, they were initially, but most of that is history itself ;3;

I was thinking more like kind of wildcats, but that's been done before so meh

See, but we have rabbit edits that are actually birds on CS. Never think logically when it comes to cute fluffy virtual pets C;

They're actually smilodons, I know this, but saber toothed cats/tigers/etc. are common and more recognized as a name than "smilodon".
