Gale relaxed at that, crossed arms falling to his sides in a non-threatening manner. "I would hope not." He said with a slightly joking tone, standing before them both. He fidgeted with his mask slightly, adjusting it, giving a respectful bow of his head in Katarina's direction. The Dark Brotherhood and the Thieves Guild had had an agreement for far longer than he'd even been alive. He wasn't going to soil it with mistrust. Even so, he paled a little at the possible reasons for her being here. "Ah, I see." He said as politely as possible, as to not offend the woman. Not only was she one of the highest ranking officials in the brotherhood, he didn't want to get stabbed, either. "A pleasure, Lady Listener."

"Ahh look at that... the mutt has manners." Katarina said, not holding back her cold and bitterness. She put one hand on her hip and looked at Gale. "In the future you should trust your leader." She said.

"Still, I'm sure they wouldn't mind having you be a little more... free roaming," Za'ji said, taking a swig of her drink. She was pretty sure she was drunk by now, but she really didn't care. "And besides, everyone needs someone to watch their back."

"Why's that?" Za'zah said. He could tell she was drunk by how she smelled. Not that he cared. He got closer to her, putting his arm around her waist.

" Oh, you know," Za'ji said, leaning in towards her fellow Khajiit. "To keep them safe... to have someone to talk to... someone to be with... I'm sure you know it gets awfully lonely out there in the country, with nobody around for miles..."

Zachariah winced involuntarily at the note of disgust in Katarina's voice when she spoke to Gale. "It's fine, Kat, really," he murmured, loud enough for only her to hear. Clearing his throat, he decided to introduce them to each other, seeing as it appeared to be unlikely for Katarina to tell Gale her name. "This, Katarina, is Gale - and Gale, this is Katarina," he said, clasping his hands behind his back as he glanced from one person to the other. "Oh, and, Kat - please be nice. He's your ally," he added before walking over to his desk so he could look through what Gale had managed to get while out on his mission. He had stolen quite a hefty amount - it almost managed to impress him.

"It sure does." Za'zah said with a slight purr in his voice. He nuzzled closer to her. A low purr escaped his throat.

Katarina looked at Zach. "I can introduce myself thank you." She said. "And don't call me Kat." She said and folded her arms.

Gale made no sound hinting at the exasperation with the woman already, thankful his mask hid his expression, though and his body language didn't reveal his frustration, though he wanted so badly to square his shoulders and ask what exactly she meant by that. He wasn't some brutish mutt! And he indeed trusted Zachariah! His loyalties were something he didn't take kindly to being questioned. Standing up to full height once more, head turned to the side ever so slightly as if he were averting his gaze from her. Clearing his throat quietly, he nodded.
"Yes, well, I won't trouble you further. I'll take my leave." Gale responded monotonously, excusing himself from the conversation. She obviously didn't like his company.

Katarina huffed and turned her back to the men. Stupid males, none of them knew how a woman worked or thought. Nothing but idiots, only good for nothing.

The part of Za'ji's mind that was clouded by alcohol knew this was a bad idea, but the rest of it didn't care. She was a grown woman now, she could do as she pleased. A low purr beginning to grow in her chest, she laid her head down on Za'zah's shoulder. "It's been so long since I've had someone normal to talk to," she said, her eyes half-closed. Her brothers and sisters were fine in their way, but she already knew most of what they did. "You must have many stories to tell."
