"Hmm, I don't know." Shadowheart gave a mischeivous grin and flicked Blossomkit over the ear with her tail. "Of course I will. Could you get some borage from Mintpool? She'll know what to do, just ask. I'm in the nursery for good." She let out the last sentence with a hint of disgust. "Sometimes, I wish the entire process could be over with the flick of the ear, but then once I've finally given birth to the kits I'll be so amazed by their beauty. And then they'll turn into bouncy balls of fluff and I'll go back into my first thought. And then they'll become apprentices and I'll-" Shadowheart cut herself off. "I'm simply rambling. Anywho, just get me the borage. Oh, and if you see Snakefang, let him know what's up."

[Keriae]

Blossomkit nodded. "Thank you Shadowheart." She turned and bounded back over to Vinepaw. "Shadowheart said she'll look after them. I need to go and get her some borage." She continued to run, out of the nursery and through the camp.

Vinepaw smiled and watched her go. "Don't worry my kits, you'll be fed soon." He whispered to them, and nuzzled their soft heads.

[Keriae]

Blossomkit skidded to a halt in the entrance of the medicine den. She called out for teh medicine cat.

{ What were the names of the kits? I forgot them. }

Mintpool emerged from the shadows of the den, from stocking catmint. She looked around, and couldn't see anybody, but then looked down and spotted Blossomkit.
"Ah, Blossomkit. What can I do for you?"
Mintpool asked, turning and placing the leaves she was holding on a low shelf.

[[Uh...I had Sparrowkit, that's all I remember.]]

{ What were the names of the kits? I forgot them. }

Mintpool emerged from the shadows of the den, from stocking catmint. She looked around, and couldn't see anybody, but then looked down and spotted Blossomkit.
"Ah, Blossomkit. What can I do for you?"
Mintpool asked, turning and placing the leaves she was holding on a low shelf.

"Shadowheart would like some borage. She's offered to nurse Vinepaw's kits." Blossomkit explained quickly, her tail tip twitching.

Cometfur met Murkypaw's gaze evenly, her emotions staying loyal to her expression. She smiled a bitter smile, her pupils burning into Murkypaw's eyes. "If grief makes us useless," She began, "then why are you, why am I, bending to its power? Grief may be self-pity, or selfishness, as you say, but it is nature, and we cannot stop nature, wouldn't you agree? We've both been through more than we hoped for. No matter how painful our past may have been, we've survived. We've both felt grief, haven't we? And now, we're both satisfied, even if not completely; unhappiness is just another step to joy, even if, well, even if it doesn't come in the most safe ways of our lives."

[splashfoot]

Mintpool laughed,
"She's very close to kitting, I don't think she'll need some. I'll take some over to the nursery soon to see if she needs some or not. You run along and I'll be there once I put these leaves away."

[Keriae]

Blossomkit nodded. "Thank you Mintpool." She turned and bounded away, back to the nursery.
