 What do you look for when looking for the perfect mate for your equid?

Well for Azarex, him being my baby. He had to have an in herd mate.

For Tobias i had envisioned a gray or lighter color mare, so her looks had to come first, then how her personality would work with him.

And actually with Chambs too. I found a mare that looks nice with him and thir personalities matched pretty perfectly.
So I want them to look good and produce nice foals but they have to get along once they are done having foals!

What do you look for when looking for the perfect mate for your equid?

I first look at personality; that's the single most important thing, for me. If I don't feel like they would go well together, it is an immediate no. This doesn't mean they have to be identical in personality- only compatible, and something my Equid would be likely to fall in love with.
Second, I look at how well they look together, which is also important.

The only exception to this is Lotte's mate, Maverick; I at first was incredibly opposed, because he had the personality of a player and I didn't want Lotte's heart broken. Through much hard work, art, dedication, and persistence, however, Mav eventually proved his loyalty and change of heart, and won Lotte's adoration. For those who remember, though, it took a long time to win me over XD
So, I guess, all this to say that sometimes, persistence wins. If I'm not sure about personalities, if you're persistent and show me that it can work, then I might just bend!

Personality, and a feeling. <3

But I really like opposing colors and patterns that just seem to go together, I love babies to be very different from their parents but have something that ties them back. (That sounds complicated right? XD)

What do you look for when looking for the perfect mate for your equid?

I have a lot of quids and a lot of mates, so nowadays I look for a unique dynamic. Something I don't have/there isn't much of. So personality is a big part of it and the other is a combination of that and appearance because my art muse has to approve the couple! An added bonus is that the other owner is active/does art because I don't want to be the only one.

Also, my slot comp (found in signature) has been extended for 2 weeks!

What do you look for when looking for the perfect mate for your equid?

It depends on which equid...A couple of my quiddies have personalities which could mesh well with anyone, so looks took precedent there, but I usually go for personality. Personality is really the most important, and looks come second. I also take into account how many breeding slots are remaining too, but it isn't terribly important.

Ettie is still looking for her perfect stally :3 Her personality is found on my WME page. She's looking for someone who'll look nice alongside her and whose personality goes well with hers. Since she has a strong personality, she needs someone who can match that, so probably not someone particularly sweet or soft spoken (maybe even a bad-boy type). I'll probably be a little picky, so I may not reply to PMs right away. Thanks!
