Raven snorted as he looked at her saying, "Thereis no curing Victor of anything. As for Dean and Kaii, maybe it could work but we would have to convince him of that. I don't think they'll be so quick to trust us seeing as how we're both villains in their eyes."

"We haven't really got much of a choice," I say. "I mean, I don't think Victor's going to just forgive and forget if he wins. Helping the heroes is probably the best chance we have of staying alive. Let's not worry about that now, though, we've probably got some time before anyone makes another move."

Raven shrugged saying, "Last I heard, Kaii and Dean were looking for some chip to rebuild the fortress for their new lair."

"Yeah, that'll take a while," I say. " If I remember correctly, that fortress was in pretty bad shape when we got out. I'd be surprised if they could find anything in that heap. So we've got plenty of time." I walk into my apartment and collapse on the couch. " So, what do you do for fun, then?"

Alex stopped. His family was dead. They had been since he was a child. It was his fault too. Turning back, he yanked her headphones out. "Don't you ever say that to me again!" He shouted at her. "You got lucky! Your family died by the hands of someone who wanted your dead! Mine died because of my stupidity... You don't know anything."

(Well I hope everything goes smoothly!)

Ana stiped and looked back. She flipped him the bird before walking on down the street. Let him taste his own medicine, where someone just walks away, where someone is rude and cold and unforgiving. Hell, she fit that description perfectly.

Kaii dove down into the water, a perfect dive with hardly a splash or ripple to be seen. She moved swiftly, going to a fallen beam that blocked an entry way and slowly moving it. If it weighed a ton before, it certainly weighed three more now.

Alex continued to walk away. He would never go back there. Nothing held any promise for him anymore. He'd go a few towns over, get a job, maybe a house. He'd live the good life.

Raven eyed Zajivaya as he answered, "Fun? I don't do anything 'for fun'. I take a certain delight in torturing creatures smaller than me but that's about it."

Dean switched his eyes over to heat vision as he searched among the debris. After all, everything gives off heat of some kind even when it's cold.

"You don't say," I say, leaning back and closing my eyes. I guess being Vicky boy's adoptive son/apprentice doesn't leave much room for family outings. "I mean, neither of us have had what you'd call a normal childhood, isn't there anything you wish you could have done? You know, something a normal kid would do?" I'm really asking as much for myself as I am for him. I always wondered what my life would have been like if my parents had lived. Would we have done normal family things, like going on picnics and watching movies together? It's still an attractive concept, even now.

Kaii forced the beam to move. It slowly fell back and landed with a gentle thud, stirring up silt and sediments. Kaii swum into the opening, looking at the robot parts and the broken androids and the ruins of all of Kal-El's collection. She stopped, however, when she saw the small crystal she needed out in front of some chambers. She picked it up and started heading back, but something caught her eye. Something bright. And red. And floating every so slightly in the currents. She went into the chamber to see what it was.

Dean hopped from massive fragment to massive fragment as he searched for the chip above the water. At random intervals, he would blast a chunk of ice to get at a small piece near it.

Raven thought for a moment then shook his head saying, "Not that I can think of at the moment. Victor found me when I was 6 years old on a planet where daylight only lasted a few hours and we were forced to avoid it because our eyes were more accustomed to the dark. I never thought about doing things...for fun."
