Only a few patches of grass were able to peer out from beneath the blooms, skidmarks of green on a white plain. The boy squeezed the girl's hand and laughed lightly. He was happy he had been right, this was better than he had imagined. The two began to wade through the flowers, which were only a couple of inches tall, with delicate little petals and soft green stems that sprung almost immediately back up after they stepped on them.
