Ｗｈａｔ'ｓ Ａ Ｇｅｍｃｕｔｔｅｒ?

A gemcutter is a creature that seems to be a cross between a saber toothed cat, a wolf, and a raptor.
They are very tribal creatures, and it's exceedingly rare for a human to ever see one. They tend to live
in tribes, and are very social creatures when it comes to other gemcutters, though are shy around most
other creatures that are either their size or bigger. When they are fully grown, they are about the size
of a lion. They generally have long, bushy tails, though sometimes they can have shorter tails, or even
multiple tails. All gemcutters have a fluffy mane running up the back of their neck, and these manes
often come in many different styles. They seem to like wearing jewelry, particularly with pendants and
beads made of precious stones, though sometimes they will adorn other items on these, such as feathers,
bones, clay charms, and flowers.

So where do these creatures get their names? Well, usually they live in or around places where precious
stones (such as rubies, sapphires, emeralds, and even rarer gems like diamonds) can be found. They
seem to have an intense fascination with these stones, and will mine them. Sometimes they'll use tools
that they either built or found, but most of the time, they'll use the talons on their front paws. These
talons are incredibly hard and razor sharp, almost like metal, and can cut through many types of stones.

Perhaps you'll be able to befriend one of these elusive creatures?

● You are to be respectful towards everyone here, be it staff or regular members.

● Please do not ask to be a member of staff, i.e; moderator, artist, guest artist, etc. If I need staff members,
I will say so.

● No stealing, whether it be someone else's gemcutter, or the idea in general.

● Do not beg/whine/carry on for a gemcutter, whether it is owned or unowned.

● Do not try to bribe the staff or artists for anything.

● No hassling someone to try and get them to trade you their gemcutter.

● You are not allowed to sell your gemcutter for art/pets/characters or any other type or currency, real
or artificial.

● A gemcutter cannot be your fursona.

● Do not ask for a custom. They are reserved for staff and special occasions.

● There is currently no limit on how many gemcutters you may own. This, however, is likely to change.

● If you no longer wish to own your gemcutter, PM me or another member of staff and it will be put up for
adoption.

● You may gift your gemcutter to someone, but please get my permission first.

● Currently, gemcutters cannot mate as I have yet to create a newborn/teen lineart. This will change as
soon as I get to doing so. You are welcome to mate your Ethereals in the meantime, or simply just find
them a boyfriend/girlfriend/significant other, but know that they cannot have offspring at the moment.
They also mate for life.

I am trying out to be a archivist.
Why Do You Want To Be A Staff Member?
These adopts are so cool looking, and I love the idea of them having a fascination with gems.
Do you have an experience? If so, where? (if archivist provide examples)
Not as a archivist for other adopts, but I am currently a mod for Feildra. If you want a little example of what I can do, here is some. While I did not make the signatures (I prefer buying them as I don't have any programs to edit pictures with), the navigation and character sheets were coded by me.

For anyone who was in interested in this species, I am making some changes. First and foremost, gemcutters will no longer be designed on the CS oekaki. However, they will still have a forum here. The reason for this is, I'm not very comfortable with the Oekaki. This way, I can use my own lineart in a program that I am more comfortable with and make better quality designs.

They will also be available on DeviantArt. I currently have a group for them, and as time goes on, some designs will be made to sell or auction for DA Points or USD. However, not all of them will be given out this way. Since they're sitll going to be on the CS forums, there will be many free adopts, too.

So, with that being said, why not visit the new thread? It can be found here and the link to the DA group can be found on that thread. I'm still seeking staff and artists, so perhaps read up on the updates and drop by? I look forward to seeing you guys again!
