Henry sighed. "Safest for Lily may not be the safest for us." Henry idly watched the monster rise, swaying, not at all impressed by the beast. Ace was such a kid. He had never known true fear in his life. But he wasn't likely to stop freaking out, so Henry weighed his options; deciding upon something that might make him feel better, in the long run at least, then unlocked his car door. The driver looked to him in alarm, but Henry just got out of the car. He leaned back in. "Gerald, don't let this newbie leave the car." The driver merely nodded.
Henry shut the door behind him, walking into the middle of the street. Cracking his neck, Henry let himself shift, all three-hundred pounds of wrongness that he was. Ace should know fear a bit better after this. When Henry's spines shot out of his skin, he knew he had changed fully. He stretched out, shaking his mangled fur and tattered wings. Most of his 'ugliness' was from fights and scars, not originally part of him, but he didn't mind. He was never meant to be pretty.
"Gerald, should we stop him? Or help?" The guard next to Ace asked somewhat urgently, avoiding looking at the monster outside.
The driver, Gerald, slowly shook his head, eyes wide with fear as he looked at Henry out the window. With difficulty, he looked away, shivering once. "No, just let him. We'd only get in his way when he's in his true form."
Henry roared at the monsters outside Lily's house, a screech only animals could hear. The minotaur that had just rose bellowed in return, marking this as his prey, but his challenge was pitiful. He was already scared. Other creatures picked up the chorus, claiming dominion, but Henry only laughed. He strode forward on his claws, strong and proud, making some of the smaller creatures whimper. He saw Lily peek out the window and knew she was ready to go back. Guess it was his turn to challenge. This was going to be a piece of cake. He might even enjoy it.
