I thought Emma signed on to the Disney adaptation though, not the Del Toro one she was rumoured for in 2012? ^^;;

I'm pretty indifferent, but hey, if Disney decide they want to cast Tom as Beast, I'm not going to get the pitchforks.

Why do my posts always seem to be the last on a page so they get overlooked? Oh well. I'll just assume Yaxley's intimidating everyone.

GO GO Gryffindor!

Sorry hana ;-; It's just I'll be so happy if Tom ends up as the beast owo
Hermione and Yaxley? I didn't even know that was a ship! I'll have to read it some time owo
ALSO the snape and lucius oriented ones I will HAVE to read for my bby Lucy

do you ever feel like certain pairings wouldnt logically work? if so, state which one(s) and why.

Personally, I really really really do not see Harry x Luna happening. I mean yeah it can be pretty cute if the fanfic author does a good job but it just wouldn't come to fruition. Harry is pretty down to earth (at least, in comparison to Luna). Not only that he can be pretty thick at times (casual pointing out of his sillyness at times beware swearing and spoilers). Although Luna is drifty and dreamy, she is incredibly intelligent and somehow I just don't think Harry could ever keep up.

They're better as friends, because if they got together Harry'd launch into some stupid hero-complex thing and Luna would just have to pull him back out again and he'd just do it again. They're too opposite to attract. Luna is calm and intelligent and thoughtful and out-of-this-world whereas Harry is violent, not dumb but very oblivious, doesn't think, rushes into things and is down-to-earth. It'd be way too contradicting.

Wait, whaaaaat??? There's a Beauty and the Beast happening? Is it gonna be, like, Maleficent or something??? Oh my gosh, if that's the case, I am soooo good with Tom being the beast. (If that happened, though, I don't know if I'd be able to take the movie seriously because I'd be giggling the entire time.)

Oooh, yeah, I love Dramione! It's probably my OTP actually. I really love the ones where they do that, the good-girl bad-boy contrast, and they slowly bring out Draco's good side and show that Hermione (while still her goody-two-shoes lovable self) does have darker days and it makes them both seem so human, I think, because those two would just mirror each other's deeper thoughts.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD READ AT OWN RISK

Draco's a bad guy on the outside, but you can see in HBP onwards that he's really questioning himself and although he's a wuss he does sort of try to not be on the death-eaters side by failing miserably at killing Dumbledore. He's a good guy forced to be bad.

Then you see Hermione; on the outside she's the happiest, toughest (and smartest) chick on the block. Ain't no one can touch that But actually, especially, again, HBP onwards in particular, she gets quieter and much much more serious rather than the study-all-day study-all-night look-after-harry-and-ron-and-have-fun kinda girl. She keeps up the cool facade, but she went through so much. For Merlin's sake she even had to obliviate her parents. She's a broken girl in a perfect smile.

And that's why they're so good to each other.
Hermione is always outgoing on the outside to protect Harry and Ron. Underneath, though, she suffered for TWO YEARS alone with a couple idiot boys in the WOODS, all the while being constantly oppressed with the threat of pain or death or worse because she's a muggle-born. She knows what it's like in the dark.

Then cue Draco in big bad death-eater robes, hiding frightened and sad grey eyes, because inside he knows he's wrong. He's tough and mean on the outside because he needs to prove himself to Daddy* and Voldemort, and also to protect what's on the inside. That little light that says, no draco, this is wrong.

They're perfect opposites. Hermione brings out that little light in Draco and makes it grow. And Draco pulls out all the darkness in Hermione's heart and heals it with the light she gave him.

And that's why, my friends, Dramione really will work. Because they're perfectly opposite, and desperately balancing both sides of dark and light in their hearts. Together, with Draco's little light and lots of darkness, and hermione's little darkness and lots of light, they beautifully balance the scales.
/Rant end

WELL THEN. I didn't expect it to be that long but there you go guys. My little rant idek I'm just trying to get out of physics.
Atlantis out!

*Side Note: His dad (as you know) feels the same, but he doesn't show it because A) he's been under voldy before, he knows he gonna die if he runs from voldy, and B) although he doesn't believe in KILLING for it, he still DOES believe in a pure world. He thought voldy'd give him that.

*offtopicness. Sorry guys, but I have to. My second fandom is phantom of the opera, and it's making me interested in other musicals*

I'm watching Les Mes got the first time, with Ramin Karimloo (#1 bæ), Nick Jonas, Norm Lewis, Hadley Fraser (basically, 25th anniversary of Les Mes) and heard that line, and I had to instantly had to go and look it up on here to make sure xP

I got a question/discussion point to share, finally! I rarely get flashes of inspiration but today I have, so...

Code: Select all
What are some of your favourite interesting bits of character trivia about the HP movies and where did you find them out?

I've been watching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 on Blu-ray in Max Movie Mode, so I get all the cool commentary and behind the scenes footage woven into the movie as I watch. (110% recommend if you have the Blu-ray.) One of the things I found most fascinating was to do with the character of Scabior the snatcher (who has decided to take over my icon while Yaxley takes a hard earned holiday from death-glaring everyone).

SPOILERS BELOW IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 1

First off, Nick Moran (Scabior's actor) had a hand in Scabior's fabulous dress sense, so he'd be a bit more "Camden rock star" and realised when they got to the forest chase scene that he'd sacrificed sure footing for style; while everyone else wore trainers (sneakers to the folks across the pond) or hiking boots, he was wearing a pair of (essentially) women's boots with smooth soles, and when the director shouted "cut" he couldn't actually stop very well! The boots were also Gary Oldman's (who played Sirius - not sure if they were the ones he wore with his prison garb in PoA but it's possible) and therefore cool and so he wanted them for Scabior, lol.

Second interesting fact I found out was how much they cut the part where the snatchers catch the trio. It was a whole lot darker when it was shot - Scabior, remembering the scent of Hermione's perfume, goes up to Hermione, sniffs her and says "You smell like vanilla... you're going to be my favourite" and then starts to drag her off into the forest until his attention is grabbed by an objecting Ron. Ron gets the crud beaten out of him by Greyback and another snatcher (which is why he's on the floor in the actual cut). I'm actually a little sad this scene wasn't in, as it's so dark and utterly mercenary. I can see it totally wouldn't have been appropriate for the film with its rating though.

There was also a part in Malfoy Manor where Nick Moran says he was being totally upstaged by the brilliant Helena Bonham Carter (as Bellatrix) and did an impromptu "Jackie Chan corkscrew" onto the floor when Bella attacks the snatchers over the sword of Gryffindor (Scabior has a magical cord wrapped around his neck by Bella, and gets yanked onto the floor). This little stunt (with no padding or gear or training) earned him back some of the limelight, as there were cheers from the crew and cast around him. But it was only one take, so the stunt team put down the padding and stuff, and he had to do it around forty times over the next six days, so when Scabior and Greyback are told to get out, Scabior's relief is genuinely the actor's because he no longer has to lob himself on the floor!

Would love to hear other people's favourite bits of trivia too!

GO GO Gryffindor!
