Tauriel knit her eyebrows at him, blinking a small tear out of her eye. She didn't even know why she was crying, and usually she would hate herself for such a display of insecurity, especially with the Elf lords so near. But somehow, simply the thought, the
possibility of losing Kili was overwhelming. She'd taken such a long time to realize her feelings for him, and then taken an eternity to find him. And now that she had, now that she was finally with him, he had to leave again. She knew he had to go. So she bent over, leaned in, and planted the gentlest of kisses on his forehead. "I know we will find each other again," she whispered. "I have faith." She straightened out and managed a weak smile. "May the stars smile upon your path always. I love you, Kili." She gave him a long, yearning look before finally turning away and striding up to the other Elves and Hulden. They were discussing Legolas and Maethriel...the two were missing. Tauriel frowned. She didn't know why, but she could still feel a special connection to Maethriel. And there was no way she was letting those two off so easily. Most of the Elves seemed to be against sending a search party, and she guessed the best tactic for her would be to slip off unnoticed. She made eye-contact with the Man, Hulden, then jerked her head towards the forest, as if to say,
Follow me if you'd like. And with that, the red-haired She-Elf broke into a silent sprint, into the woods, threading her way through the trees with the grace of a woodland creature. She was going to find those two and bring them back.

Once Bilbo had made sure he still had all his possessions on him -
all of them - he readjusted his clothes and walked up to Kili. "Well, friend, are we...ready to depart?" the Hobbit was making an honest effort to be more high-spirited, but one could hear a hint of dread in his tone. He simply felt it in his gut. There was something ominous around here, and it was here because of
him.
Nonsense. You must shake this nonsense from your head, Bilbo. You're starting to sound like a real Took, all this adventuring is getting to you.
