In response to that third question...

As we are aiming to be sentient and have some qualities of a tulpa, me and Sol (well, me anyway..) decided it would be nice to have a wonderland, a space in my mind where Sol could stay and where I could talk to him without projecting him in the real world.

Sol hasn't actually done anything with the wonderland - he has his reasons - and it reminded me of Pikachu. Didn't he not like his Pokeball when other Pokemon didn't fuss about it? Sol seems to be like that. He doesn't like that place where he is confined. Believe me, I've tried to reason with him and he's having none of it.

Does your dae wear any accessories?
Rarely. Cyrus sometimes wears a scarf when it's cold but other than that, no. Accessories look really silly on an antelope.

I have a couple of questions...
1. Can daemons pass through walls?! I know this probably sounds absurd, but seriously. If you are sitting in a room and your daemon is in the room next to you (close to the wall obviously, because otherwise it would be uncomfortable..) would you just project them into the room, or would they move through the wall? o-o
2. How far can Lily move away from me without it feeling weird? You guys can't answer this question I realize, so how far can your daemon move away from you, and maybe we can average it to see!
3. What is happening to them when they are not with you? Is that even possible? Can you stop and start projecting them, or are they always there?

1. Daemons are incorporeal so what they can and cannot do is entirely up to you. When walking through crowds Cyrus tries to avoid people and obstacles but sometimes just passes right through them. He's just a projection of my subconscious, he's not affected by physical obstacles.

2. Same answer applies, incorporeal means a lot of flexibility. The distance rule that's in HDM doesn't apply to our version of daemonism. In fact a lot of the rules in HDM we don't use.

3. Depends on how you view them. Personally I view Cyrus as a manifestation of my subconscious. And it's not like my subconscious vanishes so he's always around whether I think of him or not.

hey guys! i'm sunny and I've stalked this thread for a while but never quite had the courage to post c;
so, i've been having a bit of a conundrum. ever since i was a kid (and way before I encountered daemonism) I used to visualise a daemon-like presence - a stallion called Moe (who was originally modelled after a friend's stallion that died, but quickly started to feel like an individual apart from him). He would stand behind me and offer me comfort when I needed it, and accompany me on adventures around the farm.
Really recently, though, I've started strongly projecting the presence of a ferret-like creature on my right shoulder - exactly the place where Moe used to be. He feels slightly different to Moe, but I'm thinking that maybe he felt unsettled and changed his form. It's strange though, because I never really considered Moe to be a daemon - he was just a presence I felt that was there when I needed him, we never spoke, and he didn't seem to have much of a will or any actions of his own.
But, when I found this thread and started reading it out of curiosity, the ferret-form materialised, and I started thinking that maybe he was my daemon. For some reason, whenever I project either the ferret or horse forms, they seem to be localised over my right shoulder, and never anywhere else - the ferret sits on his shoulder with his tail hanging down my back, and the horse hangs his head over my shoulder.
What do you guys think? Is he my daemon in an unsettled form? I'm curious to hear your opinions (because I have no idea what I'm talking about here haha C;)

Hi Sunset! Your dæ sounds lovely, I like his name. I'm Ty, and my dæmon is called Soleriol. We are currently unsettled, and both equally crazy

It sounds like Moe here is unsettled, but he has his own comfort forms. He might take the horse form because he knows it from your younger years. If you have any questions, asking Moe as well as us might help you a lot. It'll develop his character, give you practise at projection, and also get you some answers. You'll be surprised what your dæ comes out with..

1. They can, but mine usually doesn't. He just changes to a smaller form, doing things that normal animals can't do (besides the changing form thing) seems to make him a bit uncomfortable.

2. At about 20-30 ft away I get sorta anxious. Dael is almost always right next to me, or on my desk or shoulder.

3. I think of him as always there in my head, and though it's all in my head really, it feels different when I project him. As if there's a hidden world in my mind where he goes when I don't project him.

Hello there Art-Of-Poetry. Is it okay if I call you Poet?

My dæmon actually began in the same way. I had always pictured animals around me since I was young - they were usually mythical animals or hybrids, but that's not the point. They would run alongside the car, and I think these creatures began to appear because i often become very bored in cars.

My point is, it could become a dæmon - but not yet! You must perfect your projection, and give him a voice, a name, and a mind. That will take years of work, but it will be quite fun, I can guarantee that

Hello, I'm Art-Of-Poetry/Artemis Poet. I was going it ask a question because I wanted to know if this is my daemon or not.

Ever since I was young, usually in car rides and usually when the radio is on, I always see a ginger Norwegian-cat-like feline racing along side the car on the oposite side of the road (Yes, he's that fast X3) and looking at me all worried like as if I'm leaving him behind or he's going to loose me, or in a really happy expression as if he's just there to say "Hello". He leaps on the oncoming cars or shrinks down under them. I also see him along side me sometimes like right now actually. o.o It's strange how I stumbled upon this topic as he appeared. I was wondering, is this possibly me daemon? I randomly see him a lot more than my other characters when I just imagine them in front of me. He just comes into my life when he pleases. Finally, he remind me a little of myself in some ways.

This is how I discovered my daemon. Usually it was a horse running alongside the car. The first time I saw Lily was when I was seven, as a canary outside my window. I was mostly a kid who knew what to do, so I was never bored. But that day wasn't like that, and she didn't reappear until a year later. My advice is to try and project him inside the car, and if you can't then just closer to the car. As Tyger said, you should give him a name. My theory is is that Daemons sort of become more in tune with you if they have a name. Sort of like how moms sometimes say 'Don't name it unless we know we can keep it', but different.

So I think I saw something on TDF a while ago about fun little exercises you can do with your dae that would help practice projecting, like forms to try and stuff, but now I can't find it. Anybody know where it is? Or have form ideas?

//also, I find it really neat that this and the Otherkin thread both have around the same number of pages ^^
