My goodness, I think I liked Spotted when I first read the books but now she's just annoying DX I always hated the thing between her and our idiotic protagonist. The Last Hope irritates me endlessly because of her "death" (can we even call it that? SHE WAS ALREADY DEAD) then our favorite idiot got upset and cried over her mist while his MATE watched. I always imagined that Sandstorm would kill the creep once she got to StarClan for tryin' to get with her man - er, cat...tom X3 Anywho, that would have been extremely enjoyable. Agrees?

You know what would have been rad? If Sandstorm had just straight up said, "Screw it. You wanna pine over a ghost? Go ahead. I'm out of here."

And then she chose a mate who actually cared about her (HOW ABOUT DUSTPELT, INSTEAD OF PUTTING HIM WITH AN APPRENTICE) and then those kids are the heroes of the story.

This. This so much. As a kid, I remember wondering why Sandstorm put up with Firestar and his ridiculous love for Spottedleaf. Sandstorm should've left him.

(Another thing I wanted to add before I forgot and went on about Spottedcreep, does anyone remember Tigerstr's parents? Leopardfoot was literally a KIT when Pinestar was already leader, so he's like waaayyyyy older than her and yet they had a litter...maybe that's were Tiger gets his creepy from o.o)

^ yeah, I believe Leopardfoot was actually a kit (or at least extremely young) when Pinestar was leader.

I think we need this and a moment to think about how stupid spottedleaf is.

Lets be fair and consider cats in real life, I honestly don't mind seeing cousins together and young cats mating with much older cats because that's what cats do. As long as they didn't come from the same litter cats will and can mate with their cousins, it's not that surprising since a clan includes maybe 3 or 4 bloodlines

And for mates sometimes it's not for love its just because they wanted to mate and have kits. I believe Pinestar was a fairly young leader when he mated with Leopardfoot, he still had all 9 of his lives. And being a leader probably helps, being able to say your kit's father is the Leader of Thunderclan

Normally I would agree with you, but what makes it uncomfortable is how heavily anthropomorphized these cats are. They're pretty much humans in furry suits - they aren't nocturnal, they can cry when they're sad (happened in The Last Hope), they can taste sweetness ("Spottedleaf's sweet scent"), have human level intelligence, verbal language, religion, etc. To a certain extent, anthropomorphising things isn't a bad thing, this series would be very dark if these were normal colonies of feral cats. But, in my opinion, it's to the point where these cats are human-like enough that incest and huge age gaps are uncomfortable. And let's face it, the incest wasn't intentional, it was either an oversight or the editors didn't care enough to fix it. But that's just my two cents, by no means do you have to agree with me on this.
