ABOUT FIELDIRA
Fieldira are a recently-discovered species. There is no evidence that they even existed before the turn of the 20th century, which is rather odd for such a strange species. They've never appeared in history and have never been mentioned in historical artifacts. However, the recent studies done on the fieldira shows that their population is thriving--enough so that some of them have been cheerfully adopted by humans and doted on.
Fieldira are extremely odd. It appears their front legs are that of a deer's, but their back legs are that of any canine. Not only that, there are odd, scale-like markings under their eyes and on only one of their back legs (it varies from fieldira to fieldira which leg this is on). Finally, they have horns, which curve forward. Of course, the stars attached to their tails with a rope have not been mentioned--this is because the stars are not a part of the fieldira themselves. It seems that fieldira colonies appear mainly around preschools and elementary schools, where a lot of paper stars are made. While fieldira do not appear to be particularly attached to these paper stars, every fieldira studied has so far been recorded as having one.
Fieldira are the size of large cats (like a tiger or lion) but do not appear to be aggressive. Their horns serve no purpose, although there is speculation they might have, once, and fieldira are pleasant enough creatures that multiple people have taken them from the wild for pets and have reported that the fieldira, without being tamed or domesticated, are practically like house cats. They are born the size of house cats.
