Celeborn had been anxious to get the group moving as soon as possible, but obviously his people were exhausted, and rest was to be had first. He didn't like the idea of staying here...after all, that Orc they let go might just bring reinforcements back to the campsite. Unfortunately, regardless of the state they were in, another fight managed to break out before they'd even decided on anything. That peculiar Hobbit was pointing his dagger at the Dwarf...and suddenly an ominous chill came over the Lord of Lothlorien. He took a few steps forward and narrowed his eyes at the scene, his hand gliding to the hilt of his blade.

Tauriel frowned distractedly when she saw Legolas walk away, but she managed to snap her head back at the Hobbit and grimace. "Stop pointing that at Kili," she demanded, prepared to shoot it out of his hands if it came to that. "You are his friend, therefore I have no desire to harm you. But I will if I must." She could feel the tension in the air, and she felt extremely uncomfortable around that ring. "Be careful, Kili," she murmured under her breath so that only the Dwarf could hear. It wasn't Bilbo whom she feared would harm her beloved...it was the ring.

"You-You don't understand!" Bilbo wailed, rubbing his temples and feeling a wave of nausea assault him. "I just--I just..." he didn't even have a way to put his emotions into words. He
needed the ring, and that's all he knew. And right then, in that moment, he felt as though he couldn't live without it. As if every waking moment without it nestled safely within his reach would be a moment of agony and torture. Finally, he managed to get a handle on his scattered thoughts and feelings, and latched on to the one truth he could feel in this instant: that he could trust his friend. "Kili, if I tell you what it does, will you give it back to me?" he lowered Sting ever so slightly, but made no move to put it away. "Do you promise?"
