Huo is an outgoing, clever, athletic girl who loves to spend time with her friends. She spends most of her free time socializing, rollerskating or playing softball. Her daily life is extremely busy, leaving little time for other tasks. Huo is very leader-like and has a bit of an attitude problem, causing her to get her way most of the time. She's almost never violent. Instead, she prefers to fight her battles with words and nasty looks thrown at her enemies.

Huo is extremely afraid of heights, water and dolls.

Heights: Ever since she was little, Huo has been afraid of heights. One time, her family went on a trip to the Grand Canyon. As soon as she looked over the edge, she nearly fainted. She promptly refused to go anywhere near the canyon and seated herself as far away as possible until her family came back from their hike.

Water: When Huo was five, she went to a birthday party at a nearby pool. The lifeguard was chewing on sunflower seeds in the corner and talking to a girl, completely oblivious of everyone swimming. The hyper 5-year old Huo jumped right into the deep end, not even realizing that she didn't know how to swim. As soon as she hit the water, she knew something was wrong. She couldn't find her way to the surface. She frantically thrashed about in the water, sinking under and then bobbing up to the surface and being dragged down again by her own weight. Luckily, someone else at the pool spotted her and pulled her out of the water. Ever since then, no one has ever been able to get her anywhere near a body of water large enough for swimming in.

Dolls: Huo simply dislikes dolls because they tend to have creepy, glassy eyes. She's mostly afraid of the ones with button eyes and the ones that blink.

Huo devotes most of her time to rollerskating, softball and painting. She has a strong passion for all three and gladly shows off her skills when asked.

At a first glance, I'd say that Julian seems like a pretty nice guy. He seems to have a lot of friends whom he spends a lot of time with when he's not working. I would try to become friends with him, but I'm not sure it would work out. Our personalities seem to clash a bit when it comes down to general values and personalities, though I do respect his views and profession. From other things I've heard, he's a fun, loyal person to be around, but you have to win his trust.

Image

Zale.... Well, let's just say that he knows a lot. Once I sat down to ask him a question for my history paper and I ended up listening to a speech on the topic for hours. He told me all about how he's searching for Atlantis, which in my opinion sounds like a truly interesting hobby. Surprisingly, I didn't mind listening to his speeches at all. In fact, I was fascinated for almost the whole time (which is rare for me due to my short attention span). Without him, I never would have finished my history paper in time.

Image

I've been listening to Welles on the radio for while now. Everything he says on the radio is so entertaining that while I'm at home, I can't be away from a radio for more than five minutes! I even bring a portable radio outside into the backyard while I practice to help give me motivation. Though I've never actually met the guy, he seems like a really intriguing person to be around and to talk to.

I've known Saiya for a long time now. Even though she can be a bit too serious for my taste, we still get along and spend a lot of time together. She's part of my main group of friends, which includes Junebug and September. We both love blown glass animals, and sometimes I spend time at her house looking at her collection and comparing it with mine.

Image

Junebug is just pure fun to be around. She always has something goofy to say during those tense moments, helping to lighten the mood. When I'm around her, I can just relax and be myself because I know that she won't judge me as harshly as some others.

Image

Out of all of my friends, I relate to September the most. She knows exactly what to say at just the right moments, a skill I lack but wish I had. I like to share my art with her and have her comment on my work, helping me improve my skills. Unlike most people, she gives me tips in a way that doesn't make me furious.

Image

Velocity's probably the best father a plumie could ever have. He's always there for me when I need him, and we both share a love of the outdoors. The only annoying thing about him is sometimes he can't understand when I argue with people. He seems to think that I should give in to everyone. As we all know, that isn't happening any time soon...

Image

Maxwell... I guess he's okay. He's way too silly for my tastes though, and most of the time he's just a pain. He's great at finding ways to annoy me, that's for sure. 19 years and he still comes up with something new every time I see him. He's still as immature as he was when he was five. I don't know what happened, but I came out much better than he did as an adult.

Image

My mom is really helpful when it comes to things that only girls understand. I guess you could say that she's the female role model in my life, though I have much more of a temper than her. I tend to go to her first whenever I have a fight with a friend or some other social problem that needs attention. She knows me well, a little too well sometimes. She knows just what I like... and just which buttons to push so that I do what I'm told.

Huo bounded through the flaxen sand, elated to have finally arrived. Her parents and brother followed close behind, lugging beach chairs and towels from the nearby cabin they had rented. It was an amazingly sunny day with only a few wispy clouds drifting through the clear azure sky. She crouched down, scooping up a handful of sand and letting run through her fingers. "Hey, Dad!" Maxwell called, dashing towards something lying in the sand. "Look at this!" he cried, scooping up an old, multicolored crab shell. Huo wrinkled her nose and kept walking straight to the edge of the water, aware of the fact that her parents had gone with Maxwell to investigate his find. The water washed up upon the shore in a steady rhythm, flecks of light dancing across the surface. She stuck one foot into the nearest wave, surprised to find that it was a bit colder than she had expected. She placed both her feet in the water, watching a lone strand of seaweed drift by. The area was strangely empty with only one couple sunbathing on the other side of the beach. Huo waded a couple yards out into the ocean, enjoying the area. Suddenly, she felt something warm slam into her back. She fell flat into the water, thrashing for a few moments before coming to the surface. Maxwell was hovering over her, looking smug yet a bit concerned. "What the heck was that for?!" she cried, scrambling to her feet. She was more embarrassed for letting herself be knocked down than anything else. Maxwell shrugged, realizing that this would not end well. "I dunno, just trying to have some fun I guess," he replied, squinting over the glare of the water. Huo felt the familiar rage boiling in the pit of her stomach. At a rare loss for words, she stalked away from him and down the shoreline.

About twenty minutes later, she realized how far away she was from her family. Hesitating for a moment, she decided to keep walking. Who cares what they'll say?she thought, pausing to fix her hair. She knew that she should turn back, but that was the absolute last thing that she wanted to do. Huo settled down to think. Just then, she heard feet pounding on the thick sand. "Huo! There you are!" Maxwell exclaimed. "Mom and Dad wanted to know where you had gone. If I hadn't found you, I would have been in huge trouble!" Huo snorted. "I can fend for myself, thank you very much. YOU would have gotten in trouble?!" She let out an exasperated breath. Grudgingly, she followed him back to where their umbrella was staked. Alani walked up to them and turned to face Huo. "Now that you're back, let's try to have some family time, alright?" she said, turning the words into more of a command than a question. Huo sighed in defeat, trailing her parents to the edge of the water. For hours, they played games in the sand and dug complex moats and castles. Huo was actually beginning to enjoy it. They enjoyed themselves until the sun was dipping beneath the horizon. They all tore themselves away from the latest sand castles and began gathering up their stuff so that they could head back to their cabin. Pausing in the wet sand, Huo bent down to pick up a lone stick. She carved her name into the sand, marveling the way the letters swooped and dipped, slowly being swept away by the tide. Turning back to face her family, she knew that this was a day that she would remember forever.

Today is the day that I get to pick out a pet! I'm thinking of going with these kittens that I saw or a bird or something, I'm not sure.
I just want to make the right choice because this pet will be my constant companion for a long time (hopefully!).

January 19th, 2015

I ended up getting a pair of kittens! I named one Mochi, and one Cally! They're both girls, and I love them so much! I just hope that they live a long time I hope that they love me as much as I love them!
Here's a picture of Mochi, and here's one of little Cally.

January 20th, 2015

Today's the day that I have to move out of the house... College is calling me. Wish me luck! I'm taking Cally and Mochi with me. I hope they don't mind long car rides!

Huo usually wears at least one of her accessories at all times. Her accessories are various silver piercings in her ears, a small silvery scarf and ever-changing friendship bracelets on her left front ankle. She can also often be found wearing her skateboarding hat.
