Vincent heard something, and decided it wouldn't get to check it out. That's when he saw the monster he'd thought to have previously killed.

Mikey's poison suddenly dissipated under the strength of the magic, and his condition became better much faster now.

Mikey woke groggily with a light groan, not sitting up just yet thanks to an upset stomach. At least the poison was, for the most part, out of his system.

Vincent narrowly dodged one tree, but the ranches on another slowed him down. He'd been smacked, but not much had been done to him.

He tried to help Jayden escape by attacking the monster's leg. Maybe hitting it there would make it lift its paw in pain? He slashed there.

The monster watched the knife poke at it's foot.
"RAWR!" it screeched, tossing the purple person up in the air with it's sharp jaws.

Jayden tried to see, but he kept blurring from the pain.

Vincent found himself high in the air suddenly. His screech resembled a pterodactyl maybe. He dropped his knife as he began to fall, which by luck maybe, buried itself right in the monster's back. He hit the ground hard. He was winded and struggling for breath at that moment. His burns stung, and now the impact had probably made a couple ribs break, having landed flat on it. He tried to stand, but couldn't until he caught his breath, which would take a moment or two.
