Welcome, come one and all, to the Dingo Creek Horse Show! Entry is free and open to anyone who has a registered Dingo Creek Horse. If you would like to sign up for one of the classes, you are welcome to take one of our pamphlets – they have all the information you need!

Rules

- You can enter a maximum of two horses total, whether in the same class or different.
- Each horse must have their own entry, but must be posted in the same post to save clutter.
- Only post one post per round – your post should contain a sign up form and your entry (or a link to it)
- Each new round requires a new sign-up, you do not have to participate in all shows, nor do you participate every month.
- Once horse cannot be entered in two shows unless otherwise stated.
- Respect everyone else and their entries, respect the judge’s decision.
- Both staff and owners may enter – there is no bias.
- If your horse does not have a show/barn name (either because the artist did not ask for one or you did not put one down) do not worry! Just make one up on the spot but this must be your DCH’s Show name from now on. If you do have to make one up, just make a little note with your entry form and I will get it updated on your horse’s official page.

How It Works

Sign up for each monthly show begins on the 1st of every month. Entrants may sign up, start their entry, post their entry up until the 22nd, and then entries are closed for judging. Judging will take a few days, and winners will be announced on the 25th. Unlike a sim adoptable game, Dingo Creek horses do not have stats nor are they trained, so these competitions must run differently but are equally as fun if not even more fun!

What does the competition call for? I am glad you asked. Each owner is required to create a piece of art and write a short paragraph in order to qualify. Art can use line arts and stock as long as proper credit is given. Use any program you like – Paint, Photoshop, Oekaki, etc. If you create an oekaki entry, it is recommended that you post your paragraph with your image, and link to the post as your entry. You could even do a traditional drawing and scan/take a photo of it. Or even clay or model horses! It is completely up to you C:
There will be only a couple different events each month, but they will rotate. If there isn’t one that suits your horse this month, there probably will be net month!
Each class is judged separately, and will have their own prizes. If Show Jumping and Cross Country are available and only enter for Show Jumping, you will only be competing with other Show Jumpers and there will be a set of prizes for both Show Jumping and Cross Country, for a maximum of 8 prizes across the board.

What to include in your entry:

ART PIECE – Include a scene from the show (such as walking into the jumping ring, or jumping over a cross country fence, or saluting the judge at the end of a dressage test, pats as a reward after the round has finished, etc), a scene of you warming up (practice tests, some smaller jumps in preparation, etc), a scene of getting ready (tacking up, grooming, braiding hair, washing, etc). There are many other things you can draw though! Do not post a picture with your horse winning or standing in the winners circle.
WRITING PIECE – Write about what your picture accompanies. Again, do not write about your horse winning or standing in the winners circle. Do not also describe the moves you do. I do not want to read about every jump being flawless. Good things to write about:
- How you and your horse have prepared
- Your day up until you walk into the ring
- How your horse feels about a certain aspect of the test
- Your warm-up routine, how did it go?
- There are many other subjects you can write about!

How Judging Works

Entries will be judged on mostly creativity. Your skill level of art and writing only plays a small factor, as does a pretty form. Adjectives that describe what is happening is a booster, as is using as many senses as possible – touch, taste, sight, sound, smell. We want to feel like we am actually there!

Now, the part you have been waiting for… The prizes!
Yes, there will be prizes give n out, and the number of entrants determine the amount of prizes given.
1-4 horses = 3rd place only.
5-7 horses = 3rd and 2nd place only
8-12 horses = 3rd, 2nd and 1st prizes
13+ horses = 3rd, 2nd and 3rd prizes plus a grand prize.
Prizes can include any of the following:
- Extra breeding slots for the winning horse (DCH’s only have 5 by default)
- Customs or semi-customs
- Rare or special horses
- Art by one of our talented artists, sasstiel1!
- Plus many more!
