Nightflare spent all of his kithood in a rouge group, his parents being outliners. Once they were killed for being weak, he escaped before he was also killed, that's where he found Echomist, but then she was Echopaw. She then brought him into the clan and hey started to train together. Echopaw was more of a hunter than fighter, and Nightpaw was a better fighter than hunter. Soon when they were warriorized they became mates like everyone said they would, and soon when Nightflare was just 18 moons, Echomist gave birth to a litter of three, the first was a small silvery black she cat, the second was a stillborn and the third was Crowkit. Nightflare felt like the proudest cat in the whole world, he was bragging about his kits to everyone, but that's when his world started to fall apart. As the other kits in the Nursery started to talk, Crowkit stayed silent. Soon the warrior marched over to the leader den and forced the leader to rename the kit by his defect. So the leader had no choice and renamed Crowkit to Silentkit. That then ended Nightflare and Echomist, and soon Nightflare ignored that Silentkit was his son. Once Silentkit was an apprentice, the leader, once again forced, made Silentpaw his mentor. Nightflare worked his apprentice/son hard, and sometimes made him go to bed hungry. Silentpaw finally had enough of it when Nightflare and him were battle train, claws unsheathed. When Nightflare heard that Silentpaw switched from being his apprentice, to one of the weak cat, too soft to fight, he was furious. But later he realized that he would still be able to train his son, for Silentpaw still needed to know how to protect himself. And still to this day, Nightflare still taunts Silentpaw, and haunts him in his dreams.
