Cope stopped and yanked off her shoes so she could get away faster. When she heard his voice the tears came harder but she kept walking. This was exactly why she didnt let people down. She was done being let down her whole life. She wiped her eyes and jogged away

She started getting further away, moving faster somehow and Brice scoffed. He was starting to feel hopeless, but he'd keep pushing. Soon, he stumbled over something and looked down to see shoes. That explained it. He sighed and picked them up before continuing on. "Cope! I'm sorry! Just... Let me talk to you! ...Please!" He had never chased after a girl in his life nor did he ever put in this much effort to keeping one. So, he couldn't understand why he was doing it now... but he didn't have time to figure that out neither.

"No! Go back to your stupid girlfriend Miranda!" She screamed back and stopped turning back. "I cant believe i ever liked you!" She put her hair in a bun and her hand on her hips

[Aato]

He continued going after her and admittedly, her words kinda hurt... "It's not even like that!" He called back. "She kissed me! ...Let me explain!"

Copeland sighed and wiped her face. She had stopped crying but she was sure her makeup was messed up. "Fine!" She walked back to Brice and crossed her arms over her chest "You have two minutes and then you are taking me home so i dont interupt you and your little girlfriends makeout session because obviously im not good enough so start talking before i change my mind." She rambled and wiped a tear away when it fell

He felt a sense of relief when she returned to him, but also felt terrible seeing her tears. He decided he'd focus somewhere other than her eyes. "That's exactly it, though: she's not my girlfriend! She was upset and going on and on about how I didn't come with her and why and how she wanted to 'fix' things so she could have me... and I guess she thought the best way to do that was to kiss me. I had no clue she was going to do it or even wanted her to do it." He spoke quickly, his words and sentences running together and even a hint of accent coming through. "Copeland..." He looked her in the eyes now. He was going to move a hand to touch her face, but then he thought she might hurt him, so he placed it firmly on her shoulder. "I didn't come here with her. If I wanted her, I would have. Even as she was going on and on, I told her I wasn't with her because I found someone who basically offered me a lot of things that she couldn't." His hand shifted down her arm before returning back to his side.

She listened to his words "But you didnt push her away." She mumbled then looked up at the sky. "Brice... Things arent working out. We are from completely different worlds and you have your friends and i... Well i dont have any..." She chuckled softly "I was stupid thinking i could do this and that this -- what ever this is -- was going to last." She took her shoes from his hands "You should go back to your queen and your kingdom not with a simple peasant like me. Wouldnt want to get smitted by your royal court now would i?" She asked harshly looking anywhere but at him. "Ill find my own way home." She said and walked away. She had done it, she had left her fantasy behind. She didnt want to go home though so instead she went somewhere else... Somewhere peaceful.

This situation, this feeling for him was very strange. Had he just been dumped by a girl he wasn't even dating? And with that being the case, how did it feel like it even mattered? He watched her walk away. There was nothing he could really say or do. He felt bad about not taking her home -- well, he felt bad about everything -- but he knew she wasn't going to go with him. She was too willful, too independent. So, at that point, he turned and headed back down the street to his car. He...was done. He didn't feel like partying. After all, he'd only get a bunch of questions and talking wasn't something he felt like doing...especially about this.

As Copeland approached the park Brice had braught her on their first sort of date she started to cry again. Eversince she had bumped into that kid it seemed like her emotions were all out of wack and she wasnt herself. She laid on the ground where they sat and looked up at the stars. She closed her eyes and thought about everything and nothing all at once

It didn't take too long for Brice to get home -- probably somewhere between a five and ten minute drive. He came in through the door as quietly as possible so he wouldn't draw attention, but that didn't matter much because his parents were sitting on the sofa together watching TV. He saw his mother lean away from his father's side as he clicked the door shut.

"Oh! Brice! You're back early."

"You are." His father added as a matter-of-factly.

"Yeah." He started up the stairs, but stopped when his mother began talking again.

"Where's Copeland? ...Did you take her home already?"

Brice only nodded then hurried up the stairs. In his room, he changed into something more comfortable -- a t-shirt, sweatpants, and jacket. Soon, there was a knock on the door and then his father entered.

"...You're acting unusually. Are you okay?"

"Yeah, dad. I'm just, uh, gonna head out for a little bit." He responded, not looking up as he tugged on his pants.

Chaojian hiked an eyebrow. "...You're not okay. You just called me 'dad' and you're speaking with an accent -- I know because I understand you better." He chuckled. "...I'm not going to pester you, though. I'm here if you want to talk." With that, he closed the door and left.

Brice hated that man and how well he could read him... He then shrugged it off and trotted down the stairs to pull on his sneakers before heading back out to his car. He started up the engine and pulled off.
