Silverkit yawned and nodded at what Palekit said."We will be apprentices soon so we don't want to mess up and get apprenticed late",she snapped at Pinekit like usual.

"Still this might be our only chance to go and explore the camp when we're less than three moons old!"
He mewed angrily. " if you don't go I'll go by myself and come back and tell you what an awesome time I had and you'll wish you came with me!"

"fine, Pinekit. If Halfstar catches you, don't go crying back to Swiveldrift." Palekit mewed, her head turning away from Pinekit in defiance.

'Fine",the she-kit snapped then turned away from Pinekit and sat beside her sister then she heard Halfstar's yowl calling the meeting."Lets all those cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under then highrock",Silverkit heard Hlafstar yowled loudly.

He was shocked, usually your the fun one! He thought and stomped out of the nursery for the first time.
It was giant out there!he saw cats sharing tongues and thorny places that looked like dens,
He stayed around the edges so no one would see him and crept close to a pile of dead creatures, this must be the fresh kill pile! He thought wistfully, imagining carrying one of those creatures into camp.
The giant camp would be much better for playing than the nursery! He heard Halfstar call a clan meeting and saw all the cats emerge from bushes, he pressed himself deeper into his hiding place but not so far in he couldn't see Halfstar, he watched, waiting to see what Halfstar had to say.

The she-cat waited as her clanmates gathered under the Highrock.She needed to tell the clan the new deputy before moonhigh or the warrior code would be broken."I have decided my deputy will be Nightpelt",she said her eyes finding Nightpelt.

Nightpelt walked up on to the Highrock and nodded to his leader. "Thank you, Halfstar. I won't let you down."

He watched as Nightpelt looked surprised and happy. I wonder if I'll become deputy one day? He silently asked himself.
He realized now while everyone was congratulating the new deputy was a perfect chance for him to run to the nursery without being notist, he ran as fast as he could without tripping and raced for the nursery,
Nothing would stop him now! he thought.
Finally he reached the nursery. Yes! He thought and crept back in. " Palekit! Silverkit! Guess what!" He mewed proudly.

He went over to sit next to arrowpaw and swiftpaw for the clan meeting. It was a wise choice for the leader to pick Nightpelt, he was a respected warrior.
