The warrior walked into the nursery and saw Rosepetal weakly looking at her.Three small kits were suckling her and she looked like she was in very much pain.Lavendershade saw where Frostpaw had done her best to heal the wounds but Rosepetal was slowly dying.

Clawkit raced into the nursery, his eyes wide with fear, "Rosepetal, please, please don't die!" he wailed softly. The kit moved and buried his face into his adoptive mothers fur, "Don't leave me as well." He didn't comprehend that he had said the last two words, 'as well' but something inside knew that he had lost a mother already, even if he didn't consciously remember.

A weak smile spread across the dying queen's face."Clawkit don't speak like that",she said wraping her tail around all four of her kits."I will never leave you and what ever happens remember I love you",she said weakly almost closing her eyes then they fluttered open."Let's name them",the queen purr to Clawkit talking about her new kits."This one will be Leafkit",she purred talking about one of the small she-cats with red and brown fur."You name this one",she said talkin about the tom with long white fur and small splotches of brown.

Clawkit watched his brother, the kit seemed to look like he had been hit with mud balls, causing his pelt to look dappled with brown, "What about Dapplekit?" he asked softly as he pressed against the queen. He was still worried about his mother, she couldn't die, the kits wouldn't survive without her milk, and there were other queens who were producing milk, Icekit and Honeykit were on solid food now and Flameheart's milk had dried up.

Rosepetal groomed her adopted kit softly."That's a great name",she purred to Clawkit softly."How about this she-cat"?She asked lightly.This kit looked the most like her father,Thrushpelt,she was fully brown but was fluffy with a long beautiful tail like Rosepetal's.

Clawkit could tell his mother was growing weaker, but he tried to stay strong and act like he was brave. Watching his other new sister, "What about Briarkit? Because her warrior name could be Briar-rose" he meowed softly watching her with caring eyes. "Rosepetal, if you die, who will look after them? no one else can give them milk..."

Rosepetal smiled."You are very good at choosing names my kit",she said with a smile then her smile faded."I don't know Clawkit",she said with a sigh."There are no other queens in Eagleclan",she said shaking her head lightly and sadly.The queen could no longer hold her self up so she was laying on the floor of the nursery.
