"Youre luck you are cute, or id punch you." She said casually getting in his car. She buckled up and looked out the window at his house. She felt bad she didnt say goodbye but she doubt she would come back here after what she had told his parents. "Do you have any gum?" She asked him and smiles sweetly

A mischievous smirk spread across his features at her words before he went around to get in his side of the car. He started up the engine, his car coming to life. "Um," he pondered as he pulled off onto the road, "check the glove compartment. If not, we could stop and get you a pack."

Copeland checked the glove compartment and saw that there was none. "There isnt but we dont have to stop and get some, its not a necessity." she spoke softly glancing at him. She looked at the road and rested her head on her hands closing her eyes. As she relaxed she started to think about what all could happen tonight.

[Aato]

Brice nodded. "Alright then." The rest of the ride was silent as far as speaking went though he did reach to turn the radio on low.

It wasn't long before they made it to the party, the thump of music able to be heard about two houses down from where the party was. Brice parked along the sidewalk across the street. "Time to amaze, sunshine." He patted her thigh, then got out before going around to her door. "King Brice only enters in hand of his queen of the night," he said with a regal accent, holing back laughs as he offered her a hand.

Copeland took the bun down and ran her fingers through her hair. She took his hands as she stepped out his car and closed the door. She got butterflies as they neared the party. "Okay, so... How do you make friends?" She whispered in his ear

[Aato]

Brice laughed. "Make friends? How? Just talk to people... about any and everything. Dance. Have fun. Just...socialize." He wasn't sure how else to explain it; it was just something he was too used to doing without putting much thought into it. Now that she asked, though, he realized this could go several ways. Part of the reason he brought her was to show that he wouldn't hide her -- I mean, come on, now he was showing her off to the whole ring of 'popular' people, not just from their school, but others in the city -- but what if that backfired? What if she was recognized and rejected? Picked on? ...And Miranda? He shook the thoughts from his head. 'Think positivity into existence.' He told himself. He'd just go with the worry free ideas he had earlier. If anything happened, he'd just be sure to handle it -- full responsibility.

Cope took his advice in. 'I can do that...' she thought as they entered the house. Maybe it was her but the house was loud as all get out. There were flashing lights and smoke filled the place. She coughed slightly and gripped his hand tighter so she wouldnt get lost in the crowd. She watched as people danced and socialized and it was all new to her. She enjoyed the music though, it made her hips move to the beat.

He pulled her along with him, just to get to a less crowded area. He was getting ready to say something to Copeland when a couple of guys popped up.

"Brice!" They called over the music in unison with outstretched arms.

Brice reciprocated the loose hug with one arm and pats. "Jason, Donny, how's it going?"

"Great, great," Donny responded and held up his cup as if to cheer. "I see-- Oh." He paused his speech when he looked over to see his friend's hand locked with an unexpected girl. "No Miranda? Really? Wow. Lowering your standards, Brice?" He chuckled.

Brice laughed. "Nah, man, nah... Miranda...?" He shrugged his shoulders. "Old news. Needed something new. I'm making this one a queen for the night." He held up their linked hands and flashed the guys a wink.

All three seemed to laugh like little girl in on some inside joke before it faded.

"Hey, guys, I'll catch up with you later." He then nodded his head off in the other direction and the guys seemed to get the message, going on the other way.

Brice led them the rest of the way through the crowd before making it over to an area where most people were sitting and chatting. "Want a drink?" He called, leaning down near Copeland's ear.

Copeland watched as him and his friends talked. They were so different from her very few friends at school with whom she never hung out with or texted. When he lead her to a new, less crowded area she internally sighed with relief. "Yes please. Ill find us a seat." she said back in his ear then gave him a smile before letting his hand go and going to some open seats. She smiled softly at people who looked her up and down. She was so nervous she was sure she was shaking

Brice nodded and made his way over to the punch table. He had almost grabbed up a cup and scooped up punch for her before thinking better. Instead, he picked up a can of lemonade from inside a cooler by the table. Who knew what was in that punch and he couldn't do that to her... He decided to also grab himself a can of soda.

"Brice! I didn't know you were here yet." He looked up to see a redheaded girl.

"Kaylee! Hey!" He smiled and ended up getting caught in conversation at the table.

Meanwhile...

Over by the lounge area, about three girls whispered among themselves, glancing at Copeland, then looking away. Then, they approached her, one sitting closer while the others sat off to the side.

"Hey! I'm Macey! I haven't seen you here before!" She was an olive complected girl with flowing brown hair, big eyes, and a bright smile. She was definitely friendly on the surface, but a trouble maker to those who knew her.
