The king nodded solemnly, gently hugging the small elfling to reassure him that he would be safe with him. "You have a king's promise, milday," he said with a tiny, sad smile. They had just met but it was heartbreaking to see any elf die, especially a mother with elflings. Thranduil sincerely hoped with all his heart that she would live through this.

(this seems like it would be a really sad scene as a movie ;;)

Bilbo had been hoping Sting was wrong, even though in his mind he knew full well it wasn't. And now here they were; Orcs, dozens of them flooding into the throne room. The poor Hobbit hardly had any time to react, so he instinctively stepped a little closer to Kili, then held up his blade in a defensive position. It wasn't the first time he'd been in the thick of battle, but he wasn't completely used to it by now. For the majority of his journey to Erebor, the Hobbit had used tricks and stealth to get out of sticky situations, but that strategy obviously wasn't going to work here.

Tauriel didn't have time to thank Thranduil for letting them come along. Orcs were surrounding them. The She-Elf drew her bow and notched an arrow in seconds, instantly impaling an Orc with it. She spun around and started firing faster than one could say her name. There were children here, she had to protect them.

Dori exhaled. "Aye, I was thinking the very same..." he shook his head and rested his elbows on his knees, letting his hands hang limp. "It's not the best of situations, that's for sure." and that was an understatement. Where would running get them? He felt like he couldn't really relax unless he knew that Thorin and Fili were well. He looked at his brother, "...We could...try to convince Thorin and Kili to leave, but...I wouldn't get my hopes up too high." it would be a miracle if Thorin and Fili agreed to come with them, but the odds of that were discouraging.

[The Winter Soldier]

The orcs appeared to swarm in quickly but it seemed like all they wher edoing was knocking out each elf they saw this was not a normal attack as they weren't killing anyone or injuring people but none of what they where doing was normal for orcs they seemed to be distracting but for what purpose no one knew meanwhile the smaller group sof orcs seemed to have infiltrated their way into mirkwood creepy silently around and knocking out any guards they saw.

Salima Faerons sabrecat growled standing next to the queen and roaring to the young sabrecat who was crowding around the queen the little cat seemed to run over to thranduil and cower beside him and elfling. The sabrecat seemed to attack the orcs relatively quickly mauling.

Saelweth gracefully began casting frost spells and freezing some of orcs right in their tracks stabbing them she would likely not be able to keep this up for long though as magic was energy draining.

Haldir // Lothlorien Elf // With: TOO MANY ORCS
Seeing that they were soon to be surrounded, Haldir quickly abandoned the idea of using his bow, slinging her back over his shoulder. Instead, he unsheathed his blade, doing his best to defend the entrance to the hall and stop any more orcs getting through.

Ori // Dwarf // With: Dori
Ori nodded, with a soft humm of agreement. It was some form a plan, but Ori didn't have a great deal of faith in it; they'd only just arrived, and persuading Thorin to leave again would be near impossible, surely? Unless..."We'd have to have a good reason...or come up with one."

Luna had been leaning off against a wall on her own as her party talked to a hobbit and the elf king. Her being human didn't earn her much respect, even though her dwarf brethren accepted her, she felt like she never fit anywhere. She was here for an adventure, and to maybe see the dwarf princes. A small smile appeared on her face as Orcs filled the room. She pulled out her heavy axe and began to chop at Orcs. "This is no time to be dilly dallying, those who can't wait grab an unconscious mate and get outta here. Those you can fight, cover those who flee" she yelled as she sliced and Orcs head clean off.

[uhm, well she can't be with Ori and them, because there are actually two separate groups at the moment: Fili, Ori and Dori are at Erebor and basically everyone else in the universe is at Mirkwood. XD]

Dori raised a brow at his brother, a small grin spreading across his face. "You never fail to amaze me with your strokes of genius, Ori," he said, the gears in his head starting to turn. They could try to trick Thorin and Fili into thinking that Erebor was unstable and going to collapse, but he didn't know how they would accomplish that, especially when those halls were too sturdy to believe such a story. They'd have to be a little more creative. "What if we told them...our dear friend Bilbo is in danger? What if we told them we had received word that...something terrible has happened to him and we have to go find him?" if Thorin and Fili wouldn't leave for a friend in need, then surely there was no hope at all. Of course, there was the matter of explaining themselves once they found out that Bilbo wasn't really in danger, but hopefully the two dragon-sick Dwarves would have come to their senses by then.

[...just thought I would include a bit of irony in there XD and eeeeeeeh I'm having writers' block for Tauriel and Bilbo...I'll try to get to them tomorrow...]

~Kili~

Kili unsheathed his sword and began hacking through orcs legs. Of course, him bring a dwarf and all, he could only reach the beasts legs. He pulled Bilbo closer and yelled "Get the back of us, I will take the front!" His eyes frantically searched for Tauriel. He finnaly spotted her and breathed in a sigh of relief. He continued to swing his sword at the hoards of incoming orcs.

He pulled out his bow and began firing at orcs. He made his way slowly over to Tauriel and said "Get out of here." he glanced stubbornly at her and added "That's an order!" He continued to hack at orcs between his knives and his bow. He looked for Thranduil and soon found him leading a child away from the battle. He gave a small smile in the midst of battle, for this was the Thranduil he remembered from before his mother had died.

Húlden watche intently as hoards of orcs made haste into the forest of Mirkwood. She frowned and said quietly "Didn't think it would be this quick..." She had Esaw gallop back into the forest and rode as fast as she could back to the Woodland Realm to help protect the elves.

Bilbo nodded to his friend, then moved to the back of the group and started to slowly carve out a passage. He couldn't chop off Orc heads in a single sweep or pierce them through the heart, since his head reached just above their waists, but he soon found out that he could stab them in a much more unpleasant place, and it proved to be the most effective tactic at the moment.

Tauriel frowned at Legolas and shot him an equally stubborn glance, "I will not flee from this battle!" Not until she was certain most of the others had gotten away safely. "We should start evacuating people; the strongest amongst us can hold off the Orcs while the rest gain a headstart!"

He ducked as an orc swiped at him. He spun around it and swung his sword up high, killing the Orc on contact. He then turned back to Bilbo and asked "How are you holding up over there?"

~Legolas Greenleaf~

"Tauriel, go! I don't want you getting hurt, and I think the dwarf would agree with me. My father will evacuate the rest of us when he feels fit!" he said quickly, shoting a disapproving look at Kili. He shot yet another Orc an then turned back to Tauriel and yelled fiercely "GO!"

~Húlden Rohinian~

Húlden set Esaw loose and quickly made her way into the Woodland Realm through a door orcs hadn't gotten to yet. She pulled out her bow and began shooting the orcs left, right, and center. She ran over to King Thranduil and said somewhat loudly "What can I do to help?"

"Distract the orcs," was all he said. There wasn't really much else they could do at the moment anyway.
